- ACL Surgery - Pro Athlete’s 24 Hours Post Op
Welcome to the ACL Survival Club. Check back for weekly blogs from a full time rugby player rehabbing an ACL for the second time.
Doing it for the plot!
Thanks so much for sharing your journey!
I’ve just had my surgery yesterday and really appreciate the tips you give. Will definitely be following every new video to help prepare me for the next weeks.
It’s so hard to get your head around not playing the sport you love for a prolonged spell. I’ve started doing a bit of coaching with a football club to help me stay involved in the game whilst rehabbing.
All the best in your rehab, you are smashing it 💪
Rooting for you❤️💪🏽 When you realized that you won't be playing in a while I felt for you. Almost a year ago I felt the same. Time goes by fast, take your time to rest and recover. I wish you the best ❤️🥇
Thank you so much - looking forward to the comeback!
Thanks for the videos! Started following you as i also tore my acl (week 4 post op). Totally can relate to everything you’ve shown and said. This is really a roller coaster ride physically and mentally. Wishing you all the best with recovery. Lets come back stronger!
It’s definitely a big old rollercoaster - but we’re in it together!! For the plot 💥💥💥
Great insight into being an athlete. Do it for the plot !
Always!
rest up & recover well
Thank you 🙏🏻
Here in the United States hamstrings grafts are not recommended for female athletes because they tend to rupture or stretch are a while. It is good you had a patellar graft which is considered the gold standard. Good luck on your recovery.
Thank you - I’m definitely going to be doing some research into graft types and outcomes, I’ve anecdotally heard more failures from hamstrings for sure
Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I tore my ACL exactly one year ago and I've looked towards you for inspiration throughout my own recovery. You're so brave in sharing your moments of sadness and grief, and I look forward to seeing the wins you'll have throughout your recovery this time around.
Thank you so much! Sending you all the good vibes for your rehab and hope you are getting back to doing what you love
how is it now ? do you do sports i just tore mine and ill need surgery
@@quinn_miller hi! I don't do any competitive sports, but I am pretty active. I'm back to running, hiking, backpacking, cycling, swimming, etc. I'm cleared to surf and snowboard again too! Tho I haven't had a chance to do either since being cleared.
I found a great PT who focused on ACL rehab and returning to sport with good testing requirements.
I'm sorry you're going through this all, but you're not alone! Just take it one day at a time. I hope you're surgery goes well and you can start recovering soon!
I’m getting surgery later this month… just looking every where for help
Good luck!!
I wil Falla You 🤗❤ my acl wil be don in 5 weeks . Dan we can recover together 😊😊😊😊
Good luck!
thanks for your video do you put a pillow under your knee whilst sleeping and elevating? hope you are feeling better. my surgery is booked to august
I have a pillow under my foot to keep my leg elevated when I sleep - I find a hard cushion works best (we use a sofa cushion). Best of luck with your surgery! Let us know how it goes
@@ACLSurvivalClub thankyou very much
