Painting the House of Blades - Necromunda Escher Gangers [How I Paint Things]
Vložit

- The gangers of House Escher favour a few bold, bright colours that stand out starkly against the grimy backdrop of the underhive. Inspired by their look in the PC game Necromunda Underhive (what a name, right?) it's time to revisit the House of Blades and their plastic range with some updated methods and a few new paints!
I still haven't quite got a handle on where the focal length on this phone camera is, after all these years ...now to assemble another one of those goblins!

Just got this gang and you're right, I am intimidated. This video helps. Nice camera work. Great pace. Appreciate the subtitles. Looks really good.
The black and yellow looks great. Really top notch.
Love Necromunda! Awesome job!
So cool 😎! You should ask the “Bard” if he approves of your Esher! 🤣👍. Now there is a video I want to see. You and the Bard discussing colours and composition. That would be amazing! Excellent video as always! Cheers 🍻
Now that's one I have to admit ignorance on! In my line, The Bard always refers to Shakespeare - I'm not sure I can compare colour notes with him these days! 🤣
love the yellow it makes her stand out brilliant job looks good.
Not painting eyes? My man! This has become one of my favorite painting channels as the results are always great and feel attainable. Plus the variety of miniatures always means I learn something. Will I play historicals? No. But I'll watch that French Infantry video to see if I can learn something new.
Well, if nothing else, you might spot a new colour or two that'd work for something else you're doing! 😂 Nuts to painting eyes, I'm not looking that close at my toy soldiers...
Looks great. Sorry about the camera problems. Looking forward to seeing the goblin.
Great work as always, really enjoy watching your videos . The new recording equipment makes a massive difference! Thankyou for sharing.
This came out really nice, I liked your process! That german grey really covers well, will have to get myself a pot of that!
German Grey, Black, and German Camo Black Brown are the must-haves in the range. I'm also partial to Mahogany Brown; Vallejo does some of the nicest leather colours going!
looks great!
Another great painting tutorial! I always learn from you and enjoy your channel.
Such a cool result! Really like the skin and thanks for the advice on the denim. :)
Yay goblin!
Another cracking job! Love the scheme.
Stunning result ! 👏👏👏 !!!👌
Killed it. Looks great
Thank you , Troy .
awesome, someone really needs to do a set of roller derby models.
Heck yeah just got some Escher myself. I'm thinking of leaning into a more goth or glam/rock look.
Lean into the pinks and pale tones.
These things can be so diverse in colour schemes
Wonderful job.
Great painting Sonic. My only note is that a drilled gun barrel would add much character.
I read this comment in Tails voice.
Nice Video!
Thank you kindly! I think Google understood most of that. :D
You know why I'm here. #agrax
This was fun to watch and very informative, thanks for the video! There is ONE little point where I disagree with you though. I agree that there's a point, when you have to stop painting a miniature that you "only" want to play with. My personal opinion here, however, is that with a game like Necromunda, where you have at best ten minis in that gang you are starting with, is to go at least a bit over that level you painted here. Definitely highlight the weapons and gems and add a few things, like a highlight and a shadow to those pipes. It's a few little things that, with maybe the exception of the gems, won't take up much time when painting ten minis at once (regarding having to prepare the paint), but will make them look sooo much better on the table. This isn't a 150 model Ork army, after all.
Ugh... Yellow and pink are always the two colors I have the worst times with. I'll definitely be trying the flesh tone base before painting yellow. Any suggestions for pinks? My fiance has a character for This Is Not A Test who runs around in a bunny suit and of course it had to be pink. After six coats I really had to resist throwing the miniature or pulling my hair out : D The Escher looks great and I totally agree with assembling the hair and faces. It just never comes out 100%.
I think trying the pink over a skin base would probably do the job. Anything really light with a little warmth seems to benefit from it; I've used it for orange and yellow thus far, so pink's not a crazy reach. Might be worth giving it a shot on a small area and see how it goes for you!
@Sonic Sledgehammer Studio what base size have you used?
This is a 25mm flat base, near enough the same as come in the Necromunda kits.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Thank you, it looked a little bigger on your video, but now I will use the ones supplied with the kit, without the worry it could look better ; )
someone didn't code deploy to dev and UAT org first..... UH OH
Lol second another cool video
Ha never been first view before
i always hate how they look after a wash, i know it how most people like them to look, but it looks so....messy/dirty ect for me.
on the other hand when people paint in the shadows (which i can understand not want to put so much extra time into every model) looks so much better.
but i sadly dont get to play with my minis, i only get to paint cuz i live in a small mountain town, so i guess i only got time lol
