This is going to be great for old radios like my 1940 RCA AR88 communications receiver. Thanks for the video.
I spent years looking for a paint that did this as I wanted to restore an old "Medcalf Bros." "Hy-Flo" air pump. Now I finally find the paint - only to discover I've lost the pump.
My grandpa used ro tell me stories about using certain paints, or even certain techniques. He used to tear off vinyl landau roofs and repaint with enamel, only thing he needed to get that effect was timing between coats.. good body men are a rare breed nowadays.
Your hair is gnarly dude. Also thanks for the video.
This is exactly what I need. 😄
TIP* I pre-heat my parts using the Sun maybe 10 min should do. Move parts to a shaded area or inside shop w no dust shake can up a minuet or two giving the part a chance to begin cooling read & FOLLOW ALL DIRCECTIONS ON THE CAN and be patient.... once the part has approached its 1st complete drying place the part in the sun for another 5 mins - I find the Sun (rather than some electric heating device" gives a much more uniform & tight wrinkle finish
Classic G Body Garage!
Followed the video, and it worked quite well! I just want to know how long to wait to bake it in the oven after painting it.
I've just done my first, loads of prep and degreasing to start with, then the first light coat and then went in with the heavy horizontal coat but i think i went too heavy as it separated in places, weird... tried not to panic. Following that i went a bit lighter with a more medium vertical coat, this seemed to stick better and avoid the separation, same with the diagonal coat, but then i felt like i had gone a bit too light i did another opposite diagonal coat and luckily by the end all the areas that had separated had filled in nicely. I gave it 5 mins between each coat and then 10 mins before hitting it with the heat gun on the low setting and although it was not what i would call 'perfect' i was very happy with the results.
Moral of the story dont go too heavy, even coverage is key to good results and the heat gun at the end definitely does the trick to wrinkle it. If i was to do it again i would do a light coat then lean on the medium coat side of things with 4 coats, horizontal, vertical, diagonal, opposite diagonal.
Yea I just did it on my valve cover and there are areas that look like grandmas skin I may have sprayed to close and or to much in one area I still have to wait for the paint to dry but I’ll probably have to start over if it looks shit
Really nice job guys, So where is the blue wrinkle SP206? I cannot find the blue
Thanks mark
Have you ever tested using two colors together? I'm looking to make a hammered Black with Blue look.
Can you paint over the wrinkle like if I get gray wrinkle paint can I go over it with purple to make a purple wrinkle paint
I can't seem to get it right when painting some handlebars :(
Can you used this on brake caliper?
how long after painting should you bake it ?
Where can we source the blue SP206?
No primer coat needed?
I followed these instructions to a tee. The paint wrinkled slightly in some areas--and not at all in others. Hit it with a fourth HEAVY coat--just a disaster.
I just did my valve cover and had the same initial result. Did the 3 coats as instructed by some areas didn't wrinkle at all. Maybe I didn't lay enough down in those areas? I'm just going to leave it as is and call it a learning experience.
@@pedrorodrigueziii4859spray again in the areas thats not wrinkle, and heat it up with a heat gun for about 2-4mins and watch it wrinkle.
👍
It's a how to for making your small block Chevy look like a 426 HEMI.
exactly
Wish I would’ve watched this video first. I kinda messed mine up. The problem I have now is I have no idea how to remove it and try again? Will paint thinner work on removing this stuff?
This video literally shows you how to strip paint
@@FightingSportsMedia it’s not paint. It’s poly rubberized coating. Completely different
How can I clean wrinkle paint from dust and dirt?
I would use a mild soap diluted in water with a detailing brush or if you don't have one, a regular paintbrush.
Dude where is the wrinkle blue I can’t find it anywhere Jesus
Can i use it over something thats has primer on?
Or can i also spray it on something thats painted?
I was just about to ask something similar, won’t the paint peel off sooner if there’s no primer applied to the part first??
Is one can of paint enough for 3 coats on these rocker covers?
Yes it is.
How to buy it in Việt Nam? It's great
Hóng ké , toàn hết hàng
I used a heat gun to accelerate the wrinkle process and the wrinkle appeared within minutes. I simply followed the instructions for spraying: first coat vertical, second coat horizontal and third coat diagonal. I waited 5 minutes before applying the next coating. Here's a sample of the results: czcams.com/video/HBgyPW_0gw4/video.html
Bro needs to learn to focus his camera 😩 feels like I need glasses with how blurry everything was
That video was more out of focus than in focus, very hard on the eyes to watch.
Used this a day ago and it looks nothing like what finish he has in the video. Such a strange finish. I wouldn't buy again. Wasn't on money.
If it doesn’t wrinkle, you need to use thicker coats, i had the same issue only to find out that if the layers you spray aren’t thick enough, it won’t wrinkle.
I tried this ... does not work.. not worth the $$$
The can I got sucked I been a body man for 46 years it's the worst wrinkle paint I ever used and I have used a bunch Eastwood is king in wrinkle paint people don't waist your money on this crap
