Interesting to learn the details that make my sister & I identical twins. Just learned we are considered Mo-mo twins (had 1 shared umbilical cord.)

Nice video about Twin Pregnancy Ultrasound.
Twin Pregnancy Ultrasound require expertise. Especially how to differentiate between Monochorionic and Dichorionic Twins on Ultrasound , that is very important to know as our further management in the antenatal period depends upon proper classification and differentiation between Mono Chorionic and Dichorionic Twin Pregnancies.

You should tell the parents if there’s a disappearing twin so they can grieve the loss of their baby.

Doctor, You say at 7:10 that if you have two yolk sacs then you know that two amnions will form. Is this the medical consensus in the field?

Thanks for the informative video. I just had my first scan yesterday at 6w2d, unfortunately they saw twins with only one yolk sac. So they will be mcda at best and potentially mcma. They will rescan me next week. I’m so sad but I also think I cannot cope with the risks and complications associated with either mcma or mcda twins. I’m really thinking of terminating. I feel so bad though

My husband is a mo-mo twin, born back in the 80’s. High risk and they even went full term to 40 weeks back then! But they had absolutely no complications and their relationship has been so close their entire lives. Praying that you make the choice to have both and that you have a good outcome! ❤️

I don't think it's your place to decide a pregnant mother doesn't need to know about the vanishing twin. It's her body, her babies, and her loss. It's unbelievable that you believe it is okay!

I thought the same thing. Hearing that made me feel a bit less respected. The idea that I shouldn’t have to worry my mind about something…always offends me. I want to know everything, good or bad. Whether or not a Dr thinks it matters or thinks it would upset me “unnecessarily” I would want to know that baby every existed even if they died. I understand often you don’t find out because they vanish before to get a scan or even a positive test, but if a Dr knows I have even more of a right to know…as that would be my little child who’s life I’d want to acknowledge.
