Well he is nocturnal, and the zoo keepers walk around the zoo with them during the day so honestly they should let the dude sleep like he’s supposed to lol
In Dutch we call them aardvarken, which also means earth pig. I'm pretty sure the word aardvark has its origin in South African, which is the daughter language of Dutch
This is amazing! They look so cute 🥺 also a few things: 1. THANK YOU for getting me into art again and giving me so many new ideas for drawring after a massive art block! 2. A challenge that I’m doing this December and mabey you might want to try is something I call: Artmas! :> basically on any days during December you can, you draw something Christmas-y, yourself doing your favourite Christmas things or a charecter doing Christmas-y things! Have a nice day! ^^
Its really nice to see a artist based in tennessee !! i never really seem to find anyone here, Its really cool seeing you draw places i've been before !! ❤
I'm from Nashville and so is my fiancé. It's grown a whole lot from what it used to be. Lots of artsy people here. And east Tennessee as well! Knoxville and Chattanooga are full of artists! Just get out and meet new people 🙂
Hi. Your such a big inspiration. I’ve been learning to draw since I was 4. I’m self taught and now I have the courage to make a CZcams channel channel about my art! Thank you Scott ❤
Dude you’re so cool wth. “Hey guys I met some aardvarks and also drew them!” Cartoon character, confirmed. Always takin silly little adventures. Always makes me smile :)
I used to live in nashville and i felt that my art was never good enough but when i started watching you, you inspired me to keep trying and i love that you are so funny and relatable and that your such a vibe. All i can say is your the coolest person ever and i hope i can meet you someday
I love aardvarks! I played a game once and found myself creating a zoo where the first animal I put in was an aardvark. I've fallen in love with aardvarks ever since.
I've been to that zoo before, they're very impressive with how seriously they take environment conservation. Everything there is green certified and I did a VIP tour into their facility. It's so clean there, you could eat off the floor. They have a really nice setup and are extremely diligent about taking care of their animals, providing as close to a natural environment as possible, and educating the public about these amazing creatures. I even got to feed their anteaters! Definitely the best zoo I've ever been to, and it was extremely refreshing to see it compared to all of the crappy tourist zoos there are out in the world. I highly recommend it to anyone who finds themselves to be an animal lover while in Nashville.
It, Tennessee aquarium, and North Carolina zoo are all similar on their care standards for their animals. Hidden gems that are sone of the best example of what I’d like to see most zoos become in my lifetime.
Wow that's so cool Now I must Make a travel journal. Because doing or trying new things give you experience.and a art travel journal is something you would want!
Wow I had no idea you were near this zoo! I go here quite often, and it’s so cool to see one of my favorite artists in a familiar setting that I love!! (You have no idea how happy this makes me 😊)
Wait, so you're telling me they're nocturnal but walk through the zoo at daytime? Edit: I dont know a lot about those animals, but it felt weird idk...
Actually most nocturnal animals aren’t entirely nocturnal. As nocturnal is kind of a spectrum, it just means you spend a certain amount of your active time at night compared to during the day. But they aren’t spending too much time out during the day to be significant.
I can relate to Winsol. I think I've found my new spirit animal.
lmao someone asks what ur spirit animal is and u just say ardvark 🤣that be a story to tell
@@soapie053 lol
@@soapie053 Well I guess it is a bit more unique than your typical owl or fox 😂

@@allaboutroofing2 ah, you’re one of those huh
Same lol
If I was the one that named the male ardvark, I would’ve named it Arthur
I was hoping he was named Arthur. I was somewhat disappointed. But then happy again once he started rearranging the furniture.
@@Esuerc I would name it Anthony Mackie
I’d name the female ardvark if I could Cass Elliot
This is wonderful. Thank you to the Zoo and to you.
You’re very welcome Deb. Thank you for recognizing my zoo.
In Germany they are called Erdferkel which translates to earth piglet and think that's pretty cute
In Dutch we call them aardvarken, which also means earth pig. I'm pretty sure the word aardvark has its origin in South African, which is the daughter language of Dutch
@@godhateseveryonewhodoesntr5977 I didn't know that, that is so interesting! Maybe I should take some time to learn about it :3
@@godhateseveryonewhodoesntr5977 yes aardvark is Afrikaans and direct translation to English also means earth pig
@@godhateseveryonewhodoesntr5977 lol the language is "afrikaans", South africa has 11 languages...
@GodHatesEveryoneWhoDoesn'tReadTheBibl And Dutch is the daughter language of German, that's why the word is kinda similar
Oh my!! They look so cute! I love the way their nose wiggles it’s really funny to me
Ikr it's so cute when their nose wiggles

Seeing my favorite artist paint my favorite animals is absolutely amazing

"He started rearranging the furniture." Yea, I do that when I'm tired too.
Their back legs kinda move like they’re wearing high heels. So cute!
Thank you Scott. You've helped me in a lot of ways not only art. Stay awesome Scott.
Oh my gosh!! I absolutely love the Nashville zoo , it’s about an hour away from me so I go fairly often and the aardvarks are definitely characters 😂💕
Aardvarks got to love them
We need more love for the tortoises, I have never seen anyone draw tortoises just turtles, they need love.
At school, we had to make clock design,. Many people made Ninja Turtles, I made a Ninja Tortoise.
Turns out that all tortoises are turtles, but all turtles are not tortoises
@@Cold_Logic Yes. It's like how all tigers are panthers, but not all panthers are tigers.

Loving these kind comments about these mighty unusual critters. Thanks for the big 💕 hearts, you guys.

I never realized how big aardvarks are! Or that they were so docile!
I love hearing you say Aardvark! As a South African I love hearing Afrikaans and Swahili words!
Yeah if they say it in English it sound so upper class, like you need a cup of tea in one hand to say it😂😂😂
When he said old works the only thing I could think of is Arthur
They’re so beautiful! I’m so glad you mentioned the Nashville zoo, I’m taking the fam up there soon.
Amazing! 😃 ‘Aardvark’ is ‘Aardvarken’ in Dutch, which translates as ‘Earthpig’ 😊
