Just watching your vlog for the first time. My husband is an outside sales rep for Priefert. He said to be sure and only use WD40 to lube your lockboxes. They need it done everytime before you go to use it. Just letting you know and thank you for the nice shout out.

Just purchased a priefert squeeze chute a few months ago, what are the black pieces on the drop down bars of your chute
Those are blinders. They just clip right on to the drop down sides. They are a heavy rubber material. I got them to help keep the cattle from seeing headgate operator causing them to balk. I ordered them directly from Priefert but a dealer could get them as well.

How do you like the S04? I’ve been comparing it with the Arrowquip. The S04 looks to be more user friendly and about $4k less expensive
It is definitely less expensive! For the money I think it works great. I like the headgate. My least favorite part is the squeeze mechanism - I wish it was a parallel squeeze like the Arrowquip. It still work well, but parallel squeeze would be a definite improvement. The only other issue you might have is with long bodied bulls that won't let you close the back tailgate. Other than that I like the SO4 - it's fairly economical and made in Texas.
I am not sure how much you paid for the Priefert S04. The Arrowquip 5400 is only $5300 without a vet cage so in the same range as the S04
My Tarter squeeze stuck, I went to unstick it and the bull flexed,handle came up and broke my nose. Blood everywhere. So be careful out there.
Ouch! Yea that’s one reason I got this repaired ASAP - I definitely didn’t want anyone getting hurt.

I agree. This was a temporary setup. One of these days I’m going to pour a small slab to set it on.
We put out on a couple of thick rubber stall mats from tractor supply. works pretty good so far.@@arrowjmfarms
