I found a brilliant way to remove musty smell from paper or other items, buy a bag of bbq charcoal places several bricks inside a muslin or lightweight fabric bag then place your items inside a plastic tub, add bag of charcoal and seal let sit several days and charcoal will absorb odor. Works great inside old suitcases or boxes, etc. this works better than baking soda or even freezing. I just did a tub of old books, literally no musty smell.

What wonderful finds. You have an active elf helping you find this stuff. If they talk about getting rid of any furnishings let them know you have friends that would love to help them out. Can't hurt if presented kindly and open ended. Also use the old magazine rack for display at flea markets for various papers and magazines. Have one from my mother I lined the bottom with card board so the items didn't dent. The boxes are wonderful, I would use the silverware box for display of silverware and other utensils or jewelry even. Now I get to wait for the books and papers. Woohoo. @5:35 The white lace rounds are hot pad covers and my even have the liners that protect the wood etc. @15:46. The frame is a hand paint grained frame. Really an exceptional work of art. Be very, very careful cleaning it or the paint will be damaged. Softly dusted then lightly cleaned with only a damp soft cloth like flannel In the direction of the grain painted. DAMP not wet almost dry in fact and only gently touched. If it was here I'd take it to a restorer and sell it to them for a nice fee but let them enjoy it, clean it and sell it or keep.

I was just saying in Yesterdays video Renee that you need to ask TacoStacks and BlueBus Dave to keep an eye out for a small pickup truck that has your name on it. (Imagine if it was Green too?) Would have come in handy today.
*I wouldn't even bother taking the time to try to look thru the bags if they are books. Just GRAB them and look later. You can always recycle them in the recycle bin

Hi renee , I think the inlaid wood box was once a small table. I have 2 very similar , they are Italian. Beautiful finds... ❤💛💚

Yes, you are correct. Music box table. I have one. She is missing the legs.

The inlaid box held stationery and you could write on it. I don't think it was a table

Wow!! Congrrats on a second great wellspring!! It's been a long time since it happened to me, but to be invited in is amazing. Free is great, but don't shy away from offering to buy things either. I got an entire cleanout that way. Cheers!

Renee, You need a van. Every time you get garbage bags I both cringe, and salivate. I think it's because I know what's in my garbage bags.lol. Since I have a van and live in your area, you can call me. It would make this old lady very happy to help you. lol. Don't need any treasure, just enjoy the history and memories you find. Thanks
