- In Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, tragedy struck during a religious gathering known as Bhole Baba's satsang, where a stampede claimed the lives of 121 devotees on Wednesday. Amidst the chaos, dozens of people died and numerous others were injured, prompting widespread grief and outrage. Despite being revered by many as a godly figure, Bhole Baba is now notably absent and on the run, failing to attend to his followers in their time of need. This absence has further deepened the rift among his disciples, with some continuing to uphold their faith while others express disillusionment and anger over his perceived abandonment.

Mr. Tamal Saha, you covered both, Balasore Train accident (2023) and Hatras Stampede (2024). In Balasore Train accident, around 292 people died and in Hatras Stampede (2024), around 120 died. Common thing is "DESTINY, THAT YOU CANNOT CHANGE".

Why were they drawn to Bhole Baba in the first place? What were the contents of his speeches? What is the psychology of such bhakts?
These are the things we also need to understand. How can we change the tendency to blind superstitious faith?
I wonder why even the educated Indians are so much into superstitions. Is it our education systems to be blamed for or is there anything else to be blamed for..No doubt we beleive in the Almighty but that doesn't mean we should leave our rationality behind.

It's all about faith or blind faith which varies from individual to individual.Some 15 - 20 years back more than 120 well-educated American people committed mass suicide at the asking of their spiritual master who convinced them that would directly go to Heaven if they die at a certain time of a certain day.And by tradition Indian are more spiritual than others and so so many conman flourish here in the guise of godmen
