    Good job smarty pants! I think it might work better if you turn the sled around so that you drive onto the curve slanted side first. Works good the way you have it but might be smoother without the sled hobbling around the way it does driving onto the the back side or the 90° edge.

      Yeah, tried that first. But then the Snowdog doesn't sit in the sled right. The way the track is on the snowdog, it "ramps up " at the front to climb and stay on top of the snow and that matches the sled design. Because my snowdog is the full track (not the compact one) it just barely fits the way I have it configured now I to the sled. When I do as you suggested, it doesn't fit into the sled.

    I just bought one of those aluminum cargo racks to transport a newly purchased Snowdog. By the time I made it home the aluminum had twisted around the center shaft. I think harbor freight had a couple different models. The only steel piece on the one I purchased is the receiver shaft with 2 bolts holding it to the aluminum. Can you show the bottom of your rack? Would you mind going into more detail on the cinch straps as well?

      Definitely not the model I have. Mine has the steel hitch tube and a large steel plate welded to it with additional supports. The aluminum rack then bolts to the plate with 8 bolts. Will try and get a pic this weekend.

    That’s sweet great setup !!! Do you use the u bolt fastener on your receiver to keep the receiver slop from wiggling around ? I got that from a trailer place and really like it .

      Yep, I usually install one of those u-bolt hitch tighteners, it eliminates the wobble you see in the video.

    Great video, where did you buy the machine? I’m in Utah as well.

    Great set up. I love how compact everything is. Do you still have the old wheelchair carrier? Might have to do some trading if you do.

      Disassembled the old carrier and using it to make a lightweight folding ramp to use getting over soft /open edges of the lakes in late season.

    How do you have the ratchet straps set up?

    Did you remove the sides off the rack or did it come with just a flat platform?

    • @hardh2ofishin857
      @hardh2ofishin857  Před rokem +1

      It came with sides but it is unassembled on the box I just didn't install them when I opened the box

  • @christophermullins2922

    Still think I'm going to get a steal one but I might steal your idea with the wood, kind of digging it

      Sounds good. I went with the aluminum to keep it lighter and also not have to worry about rust from salty winter roads over time.

    Any issues with the carrier ?

      Nope, still going strong. Just use a hitch tightener and it's rock solid. Heard some folks having issues with theirs but that's because they used a regular cargo carrier...I used the one made for carrying electric wheelchairs/scooters. It has a heavier duty metal plate underneath the rack

    Would only recommend small trailer! To much risk involved with a 500 pound cargo hitch hauling a 340 pound machine over bumps and uneven roads.
