"Rangapura", refers to the temple town of "Srirangam" in Tamilnadu and "Sriranga Patna" is Karnataka, which are homes for one of the biggest Vishnu temples. Rangapura Vihaara means His home in Rangapuram... The earlier rendition was sung by Bharatha Rathna MS Subbulakshmi amma which is pure gold. However, Harishetta has elevated it to a different level with fusion.

@Mystic Editor It is a devotional song. It should not be tampered with. I am not a grand pa...I am a young energetic engineer. You don't need to be a grand pa to sing or listen to these divine songs in their purest form. Some things should be left as they are, we should not remove sanctity and sacredness out of them. People can do whatever with non devotional songs, why spoil these devotional songs. I hope you understand what I mean. One good thing this singer did was, atleast he did not tamper the tune...But there is no bhakti in his singing. It is all noise...

Just some info about the original song:
    Composition: Rangapura Vihāra
    Composer: Muthuswamy Dikshithar (1775-1835 CE)
    Rāga: Brindāvana sāranga
    Thāļa: Roopaka
    Language: Sanskrit
P.S: This is the song that starts at 5:07, the first part that he sings I believe is in Tamil and isn't a part of the song.

"Rangapura Vihara" is a popular Carnatic song composed in Sanskrit by Muthuswami Dikshitar which Dwell and dedicated to Sri Ranganathaswamy of Srirangam , (LORD MAHAVISHNU) .
Song Meaning: The frame looks like a huge green mountain. The lips have the hue of the coral. The eyes resemble a red lotus. Oh, accutA, the leader of the celestials, and the darling of the cowherds (of GOkulam), I shall not desire, even if offered, the position of the ruler of indralOkham, in lieu of enjoying the sight of you here, Oh lord who dwells here in Srirangam .
