Instant Terminator soundtrack vibes, love this synth.
The E!quipped DX7 ][D sounded unlike anything else like it for many many years. Even the SY77 struggled to match this kind of depth with its hybrid engine. I cherish mine and will never let it go.

@@rickygarcia7400 You have to find the Grey Matter E! expansion board first. Used of course because it is old tech.
Hi! My II-D resets each time I turn it on. The battery connections have connectivity :( Did I burn my diode?

Curious question, I have had my DX7II fitted with the grey matter E board for about 5 years now. However just recently some of my patches are now going out of tune, I’m not sure if this is due to the board or if my Battery is dying. I’ve tried to check my battery status but the command (Hold edit and button 16) to check it, doesn’t seem to work anymore since I installed the board. Any advice?

Buongiorno a tutti, ho comprato una dx7ii, e sto aspettando che arrivi. Poi intanto ho scoperto la “Grey Matter E!”
Volevo chiedervi se oltre a tutte le possibilità di banchi, ram, parametri ecc.. ha al suo interno anche dei suoni già installati questa scheda, suoni proprietari che sfruttano tutte le funzioni potenziate della Grey Matter E!

Good video, better with a bit of fx, shows what you can achieve with a synth, after all, I doubt you'll find them on tracks without a little or lot of fx.
Somebody on evay want to trade a dx7 like that against my crumar bit one (no its not a 01) with the rare ssm filters and model number 113 on it. But i dont know if i want that

the E! grey matter is an expansion card!;) that sounds are available with the grey matter board installed!;) but you can load many many sounds (free online) with sysex!;) look here for grey matter info: www.deepsonic.ch/deep/docs_manuals/yamaha_dx7ii-d-fd_grey_matter_response_e.pdf

You need to find the expansion board (hardware) and install it into the dx7.. but it’s really rare
DKS SYNTH LAB Yeah I kinda figured but I was doing some reading and found out the gray matter is realy only for midi up grade so I thank I can go without it.
