    Notes:
    • The spiritual heart can transition from light to darkness. One way to determine the blackness of one's heart is asking how earnest one is in staying away from sin and how earnest one is in fulfilling obligations.
    • If one is indifferent in avoiding sins and feels no guilt in avoiding obligations, then there is blackness in the heart.
    • A blackened heart is akin to a diseased heart; requires immediate treatment.
    • Blackness in the heart can spread like a downward spiral.
    • The final stage / spiral of a blackened heart is that a veil is placed over it where no light can ever reach it and it can never be saved.
    • People with veiled hearts do not necessarily live miserable lives, rather they can live very luxurious and influential lives; do not be fooled by this state.
    • Istighfar, tawba and dhikr washes and softens the heart. Including shedding tears when alone.
    • With the help of Allah (swt) you can enliven a dead heart, but it's very difficult.

I don't think it can never be saved. He even said the thing to correct ALL of this is the tawbah.
Meaning if u do tawbah it can be saved despite the state of the veil

    Summary:
    - Hadith tells us that every bad deed puts a black dot on our spiritual heart
    1. Diagnosis
    - One can often diagnose the state of the heart by assessing:
-a) inclination to doing worship, and abstention from bad
    - b) acting on that inclination (with consistency?)
-c) [VERY bad sign] no sense of remorse, lack of 'discernment'/inner moral compass, awareness of harmful company.
*However, there is often a hidden, highly detrimental sin. We must recognise that we abstain from many sins (clubbing, drinking, etc.), but not all sins. Goal is to abstain from ALL sins, out of love (and gratitude) for Allah.
    2. Cure
    - Istighfar and Tawbah, WITH tears (Ibrahim AS story): softens, purifies and brightens the heart.
    - Majalis (gatherings) of Dhikr
    * Direct emotional teary state towards turning to Allah, as it could be a blessing in disguise.

MashAllah very well explained. Making the point about physical vs. spiritual heart is fantastic. SubhanAllah May Allah accept us the way we are. We’re weak full of sins and black dots. لا حول ولا قوة الا بالله

Rather, May Allah make us better, and out of His Mercy, forgive our sins, and accept us among those close to the Messenger SAW in Jannah, Ameen

How do you abstain from all sins? Aren’t we created not to be sinless so we can repent, because that is what Allah loves.
    Understood from previous lectures.

The thing is that we can not abstrain from all sins...but Allah wants us to try to abstrain from all sins, he wants us to strive for excellence even though we might not be able to achieve it due to human weakness but thats where Allahs mercy and help comes.

No such thing as the spritual heart its all in the mind or state of mind.

Actually it is called the Heart-Brain coherence. The state of the Heart determines the state of the Mind.

@@farzanahoque2442 No its not lol its probably related to the soul, mind & Soul notting to do with the heart!
People use to think the heart is what we use to think with and we know thats not true.
