Brian actually died at about 11.30pm on Thursday 2nd July but was not pronounced dead until after midnight on Friday the 3rd. The Stones recorded this for the BBC at 10AM on the morning of Friday the 3rd. The BBC luckily for us must have loaned the film to German TV because the Top Of The Pops version has not been seen since transmission. Very hard to see this knowing that Brian had just died.

They are tuned because they are miming to the record. It is not live. Mick is singing live and that’s it.
