    With tongue in cheek you tell us never to take risks when nearly all your videos give me vertigo. In a previous life you were clearly a mountain goat even down to the beard. I would just like to give you a huge thank you for your amazing videos filmed along the stunning Northumberland coast . Going out in all winds and weathers and giving us hours of entertainment. Have a really great Christmas. Stay safe and tight lines. Mike

    We have all had days like that. Its important to laugh.
    Ive lost rods to the bottom of the loch from my float tube, fallen in, left rods behind, had float tubes float away, forgotten to bring wading boots, forgotten lunch, leaky waders, fly box lost, no nylon etc etc.
    Everything that could go wrong either has gone wrong or will do.

    I must say ur vids from a few years ago to now have improved vastly and i really enjoy watching them. What a great vid. 🙂👍 After 48 years of fishing, ive learned some valuable experiences. Never ever assume if the sun's out it's going to be a great day. I always pack light waterproofs during the summer months and they have came in handy several times. Also take a spare rod and reel , it just might come in handy. I've had rod eye's come off and even had my line shredded due to a cracked eye. " and always carry ur reel in your rucksack. " that way you do not loose any parts like the handle. Lol. 😀 Also carry a quick fix repair kit. IE ; Hot melt glue and a lighter, as well as electrical Tape. " it helps with minor rod repairs. If you plan well, then you should have a great day. I follow everything wrote down on an A4 sheet of paper, which I've added too over the years and that way i don't leave without anything. Tight lines. 🎣 🐟 🐟

    Another great vid I know how ya felt when you lost your handle and had to retrace your tracks back up them cliffs .. I had a simliar thing happen on that mark ...I was forced to leave it after fishing all day by a massive rain storm as you pointed out them rocks are not to be climbed when there wet ...any ways I get back up the cliffs only to discover I had dropped my wallet some were back down there .....so I dumped all my gear and climbed back down in the pooring rain ...by shear chance I found it in a crack just up from were you were fishing ....leason learned I leave the wallet in the car !!

      @SlippyLimpets  Před 2 lety

      That sounds like a mission and you got lucky! Loosing a reel handle is one thing but a wallet is way more serious. I leave mine at home when I go fishing now- especially since we can pay for everything on our phones- I'm always paranoid someone will break into my car! Tight lines and all the best!

    Finally got around to watching it and it was un-reel! (Good pun, eh?)
    The overall cinematography in this was your best yet. A proper mystical outlook with the fog and lighthouse.
    I’d hoped the clearer water would tempt you to get the lures back out, good to know they’re still about. Hopefully Santa brings some new lures/rods/legs for you to head back up there. Cheers!

      @SlippyLimpets  Před 2 lety

      I haven't tried micro spikes on the grass. The shoes I've got have amazing grip on grass and mud, even got sticky rubber sections on the sole for friction on rock, although that doesn't help on this particular rock when it's wet. But the spikes might well do, I'll look into getting some. Glad you liked the video and tight lines.
      All the best,
      Nathan

    Ooooooh the barnacle rash 😫 had similar myself when i lived in Marske in my schooldays. Was scrambling across rocks trying to catch an oiled up seabird when i slipped. Straight down both shins, the pain at that moment was horrific with blood spurting every where, but nothing compared to when my mother put iodine on both legs when i got home 🤕🤕

    Grat show, well done for sticking it out!
    Here In ireland we tend to just go regardless as weather so unpredictable, me and the m8 fished all through storm Henry for pike having to move the bivy back to higher ground as the water level on the lake had risen over 2ft....the alcohol didn't help much 🤣 but was as always one hell of a funny session.
    We find on many occasions these days seem to pay off one way or another with a biggie or many average fish that just keep coming, specially when pike fishing here in ireland🎣😉👍

      Thanks Paul, glad you liked it! I'm with you there! There's something that fishing in adverse conditions adds to the session that fair weather sessions just don't have, even if the fish aren't around you know you've done all you can. Even when you're pissed 😂🍻👍🎣🎄

    Have you thought of using slow jigs with the two hooks?If you are fishing in deep water they should work.
    I bought a couple,but then made a few myself out of aluminium plate.You will need the inline with the shank eyed hooks.With the hooks riding along the body of the lure,they snag less.

    • @SlippyLimpets
      @SlippyLimpets  Před 2 lety +1

      I have used them plenty and they work a treat! I had a few in my box on this session but they were a bit heavy for the rod I was using. I sometimes use them with a single assist hook or a trailing single, like you said inline.
