In Canada here we speak French and if you can't speak well that doesn't mean you are a fool. Africans are running fast to become what they can't be. Adapting the western culture so fast. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH SOME WE NIGERIANS!!! Why are we so quick to condemn our thing? Yes, English is our Lingua Franca in Nigeria but that doesn't mean we are from England. Our first lady expressed herself the way she can and at least, we can understand her! That's what matters. How many of us have heard native germans, chinese, lebanese speak english? it's far worse than our first lady's. Worst of all, many of us condemning her has never achieved a little of all she has achieved in her life. She is living while she is alive while many of us are merely existing, claiming to know English. Please, get a life!!!

I am an African and I think that the world should be grateful I can even say anything in English because the last time I checked none of those people speak any of our languages. So who is dumb? I don't think its the person who makes an effort and is polite enough to make a attempt at communicating. I am not a Nigerian (South African) and while there is a lot that can be done to improve Africa, LANGUAGE IS NOT ONE OF THOSE!

There is nothing wrong with her English. She speaks English like a Nigerian WHO LIVES IN NIGERIA. And we should stop saying "broken English." It is a silly concept. Following that logic, English is broken German with vocabulary from many other languages. Languages are spoken in communities. Everyone in the audience who learned English in Nigeria understood her perfectly. I'm African American and a native English speaker. But if I go down to South Carolina I will have difficulty understanding Gullah English. Not because their English is broken but rather because they speak an English creole that is specific to their region. When people impose ideas like "proper" English they are really talking about power. The power of a small group of people to declare what is standard and what is sub-standard.

The First Lady is been real here honestly, this shows that she is a true mother indeed, This was not a faked heartfelt expression, if not she would have used sugar coated English to address her fellow women and move on, or rather read from slides or written address. Keep it up! God will certainly hear and respond to all our cries. Personally I’m already feeling it. God Almighty the Maker of Heaven and Earth is sending a dreaded decease into the camp of Nigeria enemies.

More than a political battle, this is a spiritual one against evil. Simply, there seemed to be more outrage over her lack of english, whether or not she was acting than outrage or concerns posted for the children, anyone can see that. Every person, whether military or politician, should see themselves as being an answer to the problem. You'd be surprise how powerful prayer would be for the girls, or using time coordinating efforts to call people together as a concerted counter-attack. People complaining, should run for president, join the military, become a warrior in the spirit against darkness, etc. Let your righteous anger fuel you into actions that are effective, it all starts with genuine personal love and concern for these girls as if our own. We cannot allow evil to get us so angry, we can no longer "feel", personal pain that moves our hearts into effective action. Shalom!
