If you like Mega Man 7 and 8, you might like "Mega Man & Bass" (GBA) aka "Rockman & Forte" (SNES) I recommend the SNES Rockman & Forte English translation hack. It's just better as the GBA version gives you slight screen crunch that cuts the view of a couple of pits you can fall into, but you need the translation hack to know what you're buying at the shop, (Yes, more bolt/screw currency lol) It's tough af, and it's a little ...odd? but still a good Mega man game imo. It's sometimes referred to as "Mega man 8.5" because it came out after 8 and way before 9, but it's more of a 7.5 as it contains many elements from 7 and 8. No "jump jumo slide slide" shenanigans though.
So happy to see you play this masterpiece. Back then i bought PS1 disc with label Megaman X8, so that had to be cool. Turned out it was fake and i got Megaman 8 instead lol, but it was much better
