    The Beatles doc is amazing. Watching Paul just pull "Get Back" from the air gave me goosebumps. I kept having to tell myself they're not actors either, that's them! Amazing. I'm not a "fan", wrong generation I guess, but their songs were everywhere when I was growing up. I just didn't know what they were like as people.

    I got an M1 and a G1 for my kids to learn on and I’ve been really impressed with them, especially for the money. I keep thinking I should come down and pick one for my self.

    Bought a G1S (the solid top version) for my daughter and very happy with it. She like's satin finish guitar, and this G1S model is actualy perfect for a begginer, first because of it's 630 mm shorter scale lenght (the string tension is lower and it's easyer to play for beginers), and for it's size (102 cm long and 39 cm body widht), and 43 mm nut widht, fits very well a small handed girl. Actualy is an OM size.
    I owned and played a lot of guitars, but this one out of the box impressed me imediatly. For the money is very nice looking little guitar. Very nice the keys and the headstock. Fits very well the black nut and sadle with the black fingerboard binding and guitar body binding.
    The abalone rosette is also a great option.
    The C shape neck is very confortable, but what impressed me the most it is the sound of this guitar at this price point.
    Sounds amaizing for the money. Fingerpicked it just sound great-great. And strummed also impressed me a lot. It's very alive, clear sound and punchy.
    Manny budget guitars we tested at this price point in shops before we ordered this, has only laminated top and have cheap boxie sound.
    This one has solid top (one of the main reason we chose it), and NO cheap boxie sound at all.
    Was setted well out of the box, I only lowered a tiny bit the action and changed the saddle to natural bone one, and the bridge pins to some abalone dot rosewood ones, which results in a bit more natural and pleasant sound.
    Great job Eastcoast. Highly recomand. For the money is a lot of guitar. I can say that this is the best budget OM guitar at this price point I ever played. Can compete easy with other brands up to 200£.

    I just had to come and make a comment on this. I would've done it sooner but i have been zoned out playing my new East Coast acoustic. I know Justin was more than a little gob smacked when The Captain handed him the G1 Grand Auditorium and told him how much it cost (most amusing). For a bit of context and bearing in mind I very rarely leave reviews for stuff i buy, in fact i rarely buy stuff at all and when it comes to brand new guitars that is a highly unusual occurrence. In my 37 years as a guitar player and sometimes obsessive buyer and seller of guitars I think I have only bought 5 new ones from shops including this one, my first 3/4 size classical when i was ten and also a horrendous finger slicing budget job whilst on a 3 month stay down under. Indeed the last brand new guitar i bought was a beautiful Martin 00016gt (gloss top), it was sublime and it sounded like angels singing the moment i played a note. It smelled like nothing i have ever experienced before or since and it absolutely proved to me why high end acoustics come with high end prices.
    AND THEN!!! .........This!! I am still in shock at the quality of this instrument for the ridiculous price i paid! I could have bought about 20 of these guitars for what that Martin cost me!! (I know, that it all starts to get very personal once you get to a point with high end guitars but....)
    The fact is that what Lee and the guys at Andertons have done by building these guitars (and i mostly refer to the G1 with this) at this standard for this price is tantamount to whistle blowing!! They have literally thrown down a gauntlet to every other guitar company whilst simultaneously pulling down their pants in front of the world! All this time the most needy and the least experienced have been duped into either spending more than they should have or ended up trying to start their journey to becoming a musician with a virtually un-playable guitar shaped object that guarantees they will give up after getting zero joy and even less music out of their hard-earned! Well no more Mr Fat-Bentley-Driving-I-Own-A-Guitar-Company!! YOU GOT BUSTED!!
    So stop lining the pockets of the rich and ruthless and check out these guitars. I know what i'm talking about and the G1 is laugh out loud ridonkulous! I cant thank or praise Lee and the Andertons peeps who have overseen the development of these things anywhere near as much as they deserve and that's from the heart!
    So Merry Christmas and I wish you guys every success in the world with the future of the East Coast guitar brand. Woohooo!!

    Great video; cheap guitars can still sound great. I used to own a cheap Dean acoustic that was just over $100 that sounded awesome with a good set of strings. I mean, objectively I think some of my nicer guitars sound better, but there's a nice timbre that some cheap ones can achieve. I might have to check out one of these East Coast acoustics

    Making the video “our favourite” on a brand you own and have a financial stake in is a dick move. I bought a D1CE 2 years ago and for a super cheap guitar it’s good but it did need some work to get it playing nice. (Bridge needed sanding down as was crazy high and a few high spots on frets but for the price I’d say that’s about average)

      Had to scroll far too long to find this comment. I'm sure they're great guitars - the specs are amazing for the price. But "Our Favourite Beginner Guitar Brand!" is very misleading when you are an owner of the company!

    • @StreetPreacherr
      @StreetPreacherr Před 2 lety

      @@BSSchumacher Yeah, I'm not sure if Anderton's owns them, but there must be some deal in place since this is the 'budget' brand that they always promote. So if you want super cheap get East Coast, or if you want mid-range then get a Chapman (which Lee DOES, or at least did, have part ownership of), and if you want high end, does Chapman still do that hand made in England range?
      Also, are East Coast brand guitars for sale at any other guitar shops? Or is East Coast exclusive to Andertons'?

    • @BSSchumacher
      @BSSchumacher Před 2 lety +1

      @@StreetPreacherr According to Northdata he is still involved in Chapman. Also in Burns Guitars since mid-2020 (there should be a relaunch in 2021 according to their homepage). Regarding the "Chapman British Standard" series (as they are called) the question should rather be have they ever made one? Because if you search through the internet, the only thing you'll find are the official demos, videos and press releases from Andertons, Rob and Rabea. Not one single non-involved person made a video to show their new guitar or posted in a forum about it.
      And the last question you could have answered yourself with a quick google search: They are available at to other UK dealers besides Andertons

  • @StreetPreacherr
    @StreetPreacherr Před 2 lety

    I say start kids on an ELECTRIC GUITAR!
    I don't know why anyone still thinks it's necessary to start new players on acoustic, since Electric Guitars are almost ALWAYS easier to play, with lower action than an acoustic, and can even be more 'fun' which makes it less likely for new players to give up.
    And these days you can get a starter electric guitar set for basically the same price as a starter acoustic, so price isn't really an issue anymore!
    Also, with electric guitars the new player can just use Headphones, meaning they're EVEN QUIETER so that beginners don't bother people while they're still learning ;)

    • @andertons
      @andertons  Před 2 lety +1

      I would agree that starting on an electric is probably easiest for kids, but £80 electrics aren't great & the £99 guitar & amp packs are positively garbage!! So if you don't want to drop £150-200 on a half decent electric & an amp, then acoustic is the way to go. Plus some people just want to learn acoustic! Nylon string is probably the cheapest, safest way to go for parents that want to buy their kids an affordable guitar, but aren't sure how long they'll stick at it.
