The people that moan about it not being a 'proper Daytona' seem to forget that the 675 was only one of many bikes Triumph called a Daytona from the 60s cruisers to the 1990s 750, 955 and 1200 to the 2000s 600 and 650... I may have missed a few. The 660 is just the latest iteration and a great bike at a keen price that's right in the middle of a current popular sector.

Yeah. And they probably never bought a Daytona when they were more sporty/ “serious” bikes.

I've got a 2009 daytona that has helibars and it's actually quite comfortable. Much more torque than other 600's so great in traffic. I've got a few mods on it so it weighs 399 pounds wet. Very flickable compared to most modern bikes.

Totally aggree, i road tested the Destination Triumph Christchurch demonstrator on Saturday. What i found really surprising, was the amount of torque the engine has. While riding along at about 50 in 6th gear, you just twist the throttle, and it pulls like a train. It really is an amazing bike, and i do think, it`s the perfect sports bike for British roads. Just the right amount of power, comfortable, excellent brakes, and no fancy suspension to lose your mind with.

Great video Brother. I'm getting a little older (50). This bike is the perfect compromise for me. I have up my CBR 600 10 years ago and don't really think I could go back to that seating position. But this looks like it would be a great all arounder. And again, 95HP, is another good number for me. I would prefer to have power I can have fun with over power I can never (legally) access. Anyways, cheers from California and thanks again for the great review.

I’ve got a deposit on one here in Michigan. Thanks to Triumph for coming out with this bike that checked so many of the boxes I wanted in a bike. ~100hp, fairings, not upright but not supersport riding position and not a p-twin. On the new Daytona... Yeah, look, the bike itself is nice and all, but... it epitomises this new era of sportbikes that just doesn't resonate with me. I know that I am in the minority, but some of us are still dedicated. If people don't feel like riding a sportbike because it's too much work or whatever, they should get an MT-07 or something; they are great fun.
Personally, I'd get the new baby blade over this everytime, anytime.

@@cocky_potato i'd also like me a sportsbike in my garage if i could afford to own 3-4 bikes. Most of us can't, sadly.
