We live just north of Farmington and joked that there were going to be riots in the streets when she won. Everyone in the Four Corners area is SO EXCITED that a local girl won it. The entire state of New Mexico and the Four Corners area rallied behind her. It’s fun to see the success. Congratulations, Chevel!!
Albuquerque was the #1 market for The Voice this season! I live here in ABQ, and I voted for Chevel all along. She's technically not the best singer, MaKenzie Thomas was. But there's something very special about Chevel, she reminds me of Carrie Underwood blended with Loretta Lynn.

I have to say though...I was VERY surprised when Kirk Jay came in 3rd...as someone who genuinely cannot stand country music he pulled at my heartstrings nearly every single performance AND made me cry once...I think if he wasn't in the #1 spot he surely deserved #2.

Honestly, I was shocked as well. He was talented and there's really no disputing that...I just failed to see what made him stand out so much because to me he sounded pretty generic. This was the first season I've watched and after the whole Reagan and Adam thing I decided I wasn't going to start a second one...it appears the show really is rigged and more about appearances than actual talent, which truly is a shame.

This season was crazy! I really couldn’t pick a winner out of the top 4 myself because they all seem like great people and have amazing unique styles and voices. Happy for Chevel though! The collabs & special guests this last episode were especially amazing.. great show!

I have seen her on so many interviews. She has got to be so tired. She is the best voice winner they've had so far.
I really think she doesn’t realize how busy she is going to be and she should never give up her life as she has known it to be, the life she is living she wants to work on cars she loves it she wants to go to school not be homeschooled and on the road constantly she wants to make an album that will take up a lot of her time , I hope she doesn’t lose her love for her life that she has had, and that she doesn’t get wrapped up too much in this celebrity singers life and she keeps her old life somewhat, she is so young.. I know how Dolly was but she wanted the money and the nice things this girl has been happy with what she has already, some of us do want more that’s okay but some of us don’t want to lose what we have had too even when we are poor and from a small town..

I thought she should win, but Kennedy was close and should have at least been runner up.
Being from New Mexico of course we were rooting for Chevel, but I have tio say I was honestly shocked that Kennedy was the first one eliminate from the top four at fourth place. I would have bet money that Kennedy was either going to win or be 2nd.
