maybe the problem came from the transfer window policy that didn't have any "homegrown only" restriction rules. so clubs can still buy foreign player, but just can't register them

Would love to see an experiment where all leagues/competitions/countries had these registration rules. I wonder whether it is the champions league availability which is confusing the teams signing overseas players.
Luke if you do this experiment with all the big european leagues you should have south american leagues loaded as well, surely those leagues would explode with talent 🇺🇾

You should consider doing the same but for the Italian league. All the top teams have very few italiana players so it would be extremely interested to see how it pans out
The top teams do have really good youth teams. I'm doing a save with Bologna and in the first year they only have 3 players that would play in this challenge
@@unpuffo3481 bologna has a few promising youth player at the start of the season, i managing a low tier serie C club, loan raimundo from bologna and hes a beast striker, even until i manage to get to serie B and then serie A, hes still considered as a good serie A player even tho i cant extend his loan again and hes become pricey enough for my team to buy...got 38 goal and become a top scorer in serie B..some serie B team do have a few good young-u25-years players that has decent or good potential to be played in serie A too

There's a rule in the big cricket leagues like PSL and BBL that only 4 foreign players can be a part of starting eleven. Can you simulate the premier league with this rule.
If you do it with all the leagues maybe go club to club and add a sign only homegrown players policy to the clubs

If you want to see a players stats with attribute masking, you can go to edit his attributes and it'll show you the exact numbers. Or at least for used to.

You need to set the rule across all competitions to see if that makes club react to the rule change better
I had a similar idea to develop a team full of homegrown (club) players on a staggered basis. Only allowed to sign players 18 or younger and phase out the non-homegrown over the first 2-3 seasons and not being allowed to renew any contracts of non club homegrown players. Didn't consider it as a rule for the league, was more just a target for my own team but this dives in head first and would embrace something like this.
PS. How do we access the database or is this easy to change in the editor?
I did this with Corinthians, the first years are always hard but it becomes really easy after that

Let DOF sign first player then you can only sign a player that’s played with him, then the player you sign 3rd has to of played with 2nd signing, then 4th and 3rd etc etc

how do you change league's rules? using the native game editor?
I've tried giving this a go myself, using the editor changed the number of players trained in England to 20 and only registered player can play. However the A.I seem to be ignoring this and registering no one but everybody still play's, what am I doing wrong?

What about the three foreign rule where only three foreign players can play in a match and the other players are English, Welsh Scotish and Northern Ireland. We use to have that and that is why England Men don't do so well in European and world competions.

I think the issue with this database is that they can register non english trained players? just cant put them in the lineup. If they couldnt register them, I think the AI would deal with it better
