Thanks for your message/comment. For a true surround sound setup, you ideally require Theatre and front and rear BeoLab speakers such as BeoLab 8 or better still, BeoLab 28. The sub is not essential, though I am bound to say that this is always down to personal taste and preference. We recommend booking an appointment with your nearest showroom for a full demonstration of the system. That said, the sound in the showroom is not normally as good as in the home environment. We have a brand new pair of BeoLab 18 just become available should these be of interest in your new Theatre setup (and you live in the UK)… 🔊 🎶

@@patrickl.654 We can thoroughly recommend either BeoLab 18 or BeoLab 8 as front left/right. It really depends upon your visual preference and which model fits your setup the best. BeoLab 8 (as seen) are fantastic for wall mounting in the way that we have them in this video. In terms of bass, many setups that employ BeoSound Theatre will see the Theatre deal with most of the bass. The microphone setup calibration process will also direct the bass most appropriately to the speaker models in your setup. In short, if you are using BeoLab 8 or 18, the Theatre will provide the majority of the bass. Enjoy, whichever setup you decide to opt for... PS. Another factor is if you should want B&O Radio and streaming services built-in to your speakers. If you want BeoSound Theatre to be the 'master' audio system, then BeoLab 8 could be an overkill in that they provide all of the extra functionality that you may not necessarily require. BeoLab 18 could, in this case, be the better option?!
Thanks for your message/comment. BeoLab 19 in this type of setup with BS Theatre, BeoLab 28 and BeoLab 8 is not necessary. Slight gains in bass when you set the levels very high. For movies, it can benefit the setup, depending upon your personal listening preferences.

I recommend heading over to our Pinterest channel for lots of info, app screenshots etc etc. We have so much info on BeoSound Theatre, the B&O app plus everything else besides...
