When popping corn leave the lid on the cooking pot slightly ajar to allow steam to escape. This results in a more tender popped morsel. Also....pour caramel only after it is slightly cooled to avoid shrinking the popped corn as you see happening in this video. It's harder to mix but the results are better in my opinion.

When adding caramel to the corn, it should also be “dried” in an oven at 200F for about 20 minutes, stirred every five minutes. At least that’s what the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook says… I’ve been doing this for about 40 years (since I was around eight years old. And yes, I was cooking like this at that age.)
