the actress who plays mandy said she knows lips too good for her, but by the end of their arc together and how lip turns out - mandy was too good for lip
Yep the older he got the more he went downhill. He didn't think he was worthy. He never wanted a better life. At least bro Ian did. Lip loved to self sabotage.
Interesting how Mickey is a dark, tragic character - but also the funniest sometimes. He's hard to watch, but they'll occasionally throw in some hilarious punch line for him to deliver!
Lip became my favorite character the season he went to university. We got to see more of his personality and how truly smart and capable he was. After he got kicked out, he become BORING. I dreaded watching his scenes after that for a while. Would've been cool for him to be the first Gallagher with a degree.
i mean he did get a little boring but his story line is really realistic. like everything going downhill for him and becoming an alcoholic then trying to fix himself after idk a lot of his lonely moments/scenes where he’s literally breaking down we’re really relatable.
@@barminafromtheblocc2621 it's sadly a lot more realistic than him finishing uni, and the way he was there and what made him exciting couldn't have lead to anything too great
Disappointed they didn’t bring back everyone from the past, in the final season. Jody and Karen, Sheila, Mandy, Fiona......a tiny cameo would have gone a long way.
I was really hoping to see what Sheila was up to. Even if they just showed a clip of her. As Frank was floating up on his barstool they could of showed him seeing her wherever she is now. They could of done the same for Fiona.
The missing actors had probably just moved on to other things and were not interested. It's just a character and paycheck (as it's their job), and things move on in career or life. Especially since the show ran for 10 years. It wasn't a huge paycheck for any of them on such a show.
She's a natural-born American citizen and native of Connecticut. Her father is British and her mother French. The accent is from twenty years in London.
I wish they would've brought Mandy back. But I'm guessing after the 2 actors (Jeremy & Emma) broke up in real life, She didn't want nothing to do w/him or the show.
i don't think so. shameless directors always dismiss characters when they can't find any more story for them. and jeremy & emma are still very close friends 🙂
i’ve always thought of mickey having borderline personality disorder. probably mandy too. they were both profoundly abused and just needed to survive and it rewired their brains and now they don’t know how to handle being loved by good people. it explains the lashing out, the defensiveness, the fear, the seeking validation on mandys part. i just see so much of myself in them.
i don't think they have borderline disorder. it's not all about mental disorders, you know? i think it's just their personality. they grew up in a bad home, they do what they grew up seeing. it's normal for children to reproduce their parents' attitudes, whether they're good or not. it doesn't mean any disorder.
No, they’re profoundly damaged but not mentally ill. BPD is like bipolar disorder on steroids, where the emotional rotations are much faster and you basically have no sense of identity. You’re very emotionally unstable. If Mickey had had BPD, Ian in season 4 and 5 would have been much more stable by comparison than Mickey. The fact that Mickey was the support system and was always picking up the pieces says that while he may have emotional issues and be a definite South Side guy, he wasn’t mentally ill.
@@liliane_C2000 True that they are different types of disorders, but there are still comparisons to be made. Both have a profound effect on mood, though BPD is much more rapid (can go through various strong emotions in an hour, for example). Both are characterized by impulsivity. And BPD can sometimes be misdiagnosed as bipolar, depending on the type (I know someone who was misdiagnosed). But yes, BPD can be shaped more by environmental factors. People with that disorder have a less stable sense of identity, and also a constant fear of abandonment. There are differences between the two. All to say, Mickey wouldn’t have been able to support Ian the way he did - been the stable, steady, loyal, more sensible boyfriend - had he had BPD.
Sadly I feel like that Gallaghers turned into the Milkoviches, towards the end they were together because they had to be not wanted and the storylines among the siblings felt forced....
"the Milkovich had no Fiona" that was pretty powerful cuz without Fiona the Ghallaghers would've turned out the same way.
No they would be way worse
Mickey is everyone's favourite character for a reason I'm telling yall
He’s not mine lmao
yesssss

like wot???
THIS IS THE FIRST IM HEARING ABOUT THIS TOO
There needs to be a shameless spin off where we get to see the Milkoviches growing up
That would have been great tbh I loved Mandy and Mickey
That’s exactly what I was thinking
That would be really dark. But amazing idea nonetheless !
I'll take any kind of spin off at this point. So sad it's ending.
I want a gallavich spin-off with kids 🥺

I would watch!
Interesting how Mickey is a dark, tragic character - but also the funniest sometimes. He's hard to watch, but they'll occasionally throw in some hilarious punch line for him to deliver!
If Lip had ended up with Mandy, he would have been a successful man by now, or at the very least in an interesting story line. Instead he got boring.
