  • The 2022 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international men's football championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It is scheduled to take place in Qatar in 2022. This will be the first time the World Cup will be held in the Middle East, and in an Arab and a Muslim country. Provided the current format is not changed for this tournament, it will involve 32 national teams, including the host nation.
    This will also mark the first World Cup not to be held in June or July; the tournament is instead scheduled for late November till mid-December. It is to be played in a reduced timeframe of around 28 days, with the final being held on 18 December 2022, which is also Qatar National Day.

Respect a foreign culture just like you want people to respect you. Deaths? Yes. There are people dying in Africa. What have you done about them? Accept Qatar as a nation on earth. Accept their people. Respect their culture. Respect diversity. Not everything has to be about booze and sex.

    Imo I think the World cup should be held in a country that is actually passionate about football. In Qatar barely anyone goes to watch their club or their national team play ever. Most of them have no support or passion for their clubs or teams and the reason anyone would ever go is to see Xavi play for Al Sadd. But even then these humongous stadiums are about half full. I know Fifa are trying to spread the World Cup to different regions of the World but they should at least do in a country in that region where people are passionate and play the game.
    Even Iran or Eqypt which are both muslim countries, could have hosted the World Cup, where fans actually go out and support their local teams Like Al Ahly or Persepolis, where fans fight just to get into the stadium, and derbies turn into battles between fans. Thats why countries like Mexico have hosted 2 of the greatest world cups in 70' and 82' who were at the time a third world nation but with passion for football. Also explains why World Cup 2002 was such a disgraceful World Cup. Hosted by Japan and Korea who are full of money but mediocre fans (Mostly Korea). Even they have more fans than Qatar. The tournament probably ran on money. The refs that officiated the games were horrendous and are why Korea were able to get to the semi finals. Its worse now with Qatar, where these ppl are hungry for money and pleasure not Football. Explains why hundreds of migrant workers that are hired to build these massive stadiums, aren't paid for months and even die because Qataris dont care about anything but money.
    A bit harsh but its the truth. I know Qatar may have some genuine fans but most of them aren't. Its sad to see football is becoming a sport run by money and greed, instead of what its meant to be. FIFA are a disgrace and responsible for this. World Cup is something that brings people all over the world together. and FIFA are wrecking it bit by bit. I would rather watch a World Cup in a country like Colombia or Eqypt rather than a tinpot country like Qatar.

I'm not Arab, but hopefully the World Cup in Qatar will be a great World Cup, let's just wait and see ;)

      Qatar has a population of 2-3 million people with around 500k of them being Qatari. Whilst sure they aren't good at football, they're learning and the people are extremely open. Qatar isn't like Saudi Arabia or most other Arab countries. It's diverse and well respected. You can't hate on them for having the money to host one of the best world cups to this day. Trust me, it'll be amazing. And as for alcohol laws, you can drink and do whatever you want, just as long as you don't start causing trouble and puking all over the streets.

    • @leroyinsane1014
      @leroyinsane1014 Před 6 lety +3

      Zaki Al Issawi I'm not even Qatari nor Arab. But I agree with you. And plus, what pisses me off mostly is when Russia bribes the World Cup from the USA, no one talks. When South Africa bribes the World Cup from Morroco, also no one talks. When an Arabian country bribes the World Cup, every goes wild and act like they actually give a fuck. Same thing goes to slavery and labory. South Africa and Brazil had one of the most slaves and labors in World Cup's history, in terms of building stadiums, but still, no one talks, or seems to give a fuck. But when an Arabian country does it, everyone goes emotional and shit, as if they actually care about the slaves/labors... If they cared, they would've done the same thing to South Africa and Brazil, but no, it's all about racism nowadays... I'm not even Arab, but I'm ashamed of those fake ass cunts smh...

    • @zakiai67
      @zakiai67 Před 6 lety +2

      Leroy INsane straight up love your mentality tbh. You're completely right. There's corruption everywhere in FIFA and people only took to social media when Qatar bid. It's shameful. I'm not saying there wasn't any corruption with their bid because that would be me just lying, it's a gas rich country and they can easily bribe without hesitation. But Qatari's are good people and can't be compared to other arabs. Qatar has changed a lot and i'm really proud of how much the country has developed, especially regarding their labor laws.

      @njordan5812 Před 10 lety +8

      G Klerk you are such an ignorant! yes there might be people died in the building sites and we're very sorry for that , however the're not more than 20 people ! but your full with hate media amplify things they said its more than 1000!! , the indian and bangali embassy denied all the massive numbers of workers who you claimed to be died , seriously get a life ! why all the hate over Qatar? is it because we are richer than you and we can build the most beautiful staidums or because we win over you? any of the reasons that got you so hateful is so childish, grow up.

    • @njordan5812
      @njordan5812 Před 10 lety +4

      what do you define slavery?? Dont you know that people in Qatar live a high standards life better than you even do? do you now that Qatar is the most growing country in the world ? do you know that Qatar offers the highest salaries in the inter world even tho people dont pay tax ! Qatar is a very open minded country the locals are so nice and polite to foreigners? do you know that Qatar offers jobs for more than million poor people all around who got no education they've never find any jobs back home they'll be workers and work in constructions with high salaries compared to what they would get in your country or their home you ignorant!

    • @gklerk4170
      @gklerk4170 Před 10 lety +2

      Nourah Saif Slavery is underpayed labour for far too long hours on a terrible buildingsite. Official reports counted 240 deaths in januari but the deathrate hasn't lowered since. This all came out because of the Britisch newspaper the Guardian had a bad feeling what's going on in Qatar. But what with all those Bengali workers who work elsewhere in Qatar? I don't believe much about happy bengali people. I read more things about abuses of cleaninglady's. Is there any control on it? Second thing is about football culture or the lack of it. Your country bought an international football tournament without any significant reason than prestige. The stadiums are build for 3 weeks of blatantly show-off. They will never been used after the World Cup. And don't call us childish or ignorant. I live in The Netherlands. The livingstandards are pretty good here and people decent educated.

      Selling oil is an industry like any other , there is no shame in building your country off it, you actually need more research to know to extract crude oil than most industries.
      Since Qatar is rich it can afford to pay well and that's why immigrants go there , because it pays well , now fuck off with your ignorance.

      Build by slaves. Thousands of workers died while building these stadiums. They lose their passports so they can’t exit the country and get paid very little. The workers human rights get violated in every way possible.

      amazighen North Africa To be honest, I don’t think the US can do much about not having surplus amounts of oil fields in their country. Hardly their fault based on their location. Or the UK for that matter.

    I don't know what they were thinking.
    There are many reasons why this is a wrong choice, and I'm not even talking about society, slavery or politics.
    1. Qatar isn't a good team, even China and Kuwait are better teams and they did play at the WC, Qatar hasn't even appeared yet.
    2. Tiny country, I don't know how all the teams and tourists will enter in this place. People usually criticize Uruguay bids for being a small country to hold the WC again, yet Uruguay is many times bigger than Qatar.
    3. The stadiums aren't even built yet, they're all under construction, WTF!! at least choose a country with stadiums.
    4. The stadiums capacity is scheduled to be only 40000, this sucks already, they will have low attendance, people will often be left without tickets.
    5. The climate is not very suitable for the tournament as it's very hot-dry-desertic in this area of the map. With this point and point 4, people will likely avoid traveling here.
    6. It is going to be only 28 days, so it's going to last shorter than previous WCs, that makes it boring, not to mention that it is going to be held in November.

      JP Wärthon Wu I'm not Qatari, or Arab in general, but I disagree with you on those fallowing stuff.
      Qatar's team is developing every day with the unbelievable amount of money they have, their youth is getting stronger every single year, they might even reach the quarter finals, if the rumors are true, that Zidane will coach them for 46 Million Euros.
      Qatar being small, shouldn't be an exuse, because I'm sure there will not be so much people that it will "LITERALLY" fill all the country lol😂 (People who say that about Uragauy are just jealous idiots, size shouldn't matter when it comes to a country hosting a World Cup. Because I'm sure Hawaii the STATE won't host the World Cup by it's self lol😂
      Having an exuse as the stadiums aren't built yet is ridiculous, because they will be all finished by 2022, and most of them will be finished by 2021 anyways...
      Why are you complaining about the stadiums capacity, when Russia, Brazil, South Africa, have the same stadium capacity as Qatar, when it comes to all stadium comparisons...
      The climate will be fine, because the tournament will be out in the winter, so it would be as hot as Brazil in the summer, which is very sutible for a World Cup. I know there will be a winter break, but the winter break will already happen next season for Europe, so they will be already used to that winter break.
      And if it's going to be 28 days, that means there will be more matches a day, and it's only TWO less days so chill...
      Also, the 2022 Qatar World Cup, might be very special, because it might feature 48 teams, which will make it the first World Cup EVER to feature *48 teams!*
      Edit: If you want to talk about slavery and labors, then you should tell that to Brazil and South Africa, who did the same thing Qatar did to their labors...
      Also, if you think Qatar is the only country that bribed the World Cup, then think again, because Russia and South Africa bribed it too...

      Leroy INsane Russia maybe South Africa no. Honestly Quatar don't aren't a big country and get money from oil and slavery this is quite possibly the worst place to go they are not having 48 that's the USA Canada and mexico one. Fifa is a discrace to give these twats the world cup honestly

      Big Virgil How am I deluded? What I said was LITERALLY FACTS! What did I say that was so wrong, huh? Stop being butthurt, and let the World Cup be in different places in the world. I myself is tired of it being one day in Europe, and then in South America. Give other countries chances mate.
