ABOUT AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR
This action-packed series follows competitors as they tackle a series of challenging obstacle courses in city qualifying and city finals rounds across the country. Ninjas who successfully complete the finals course in their designated region move on to the national finals round in Las Vegas, where they face a multi-stage course with up to 23 obstacles. The ninja who completes all four stages - including the final 75-foot rope climb - takes home a grand prize of $1 million. If no competitor finishes all four stages, the ninja that advances the farthest (and the fastest) on the course, also known as the "last ninja standing," will take home $100,000.

It's difficult when people you admire (even if it's just as athletes) let you down. But there are some great competitors waiting to take that spot. We'll see what happens. Maybe Flip will finally catch a break this year. He's insanely talented but has been snake-bitten for years.....ever since he got DQ'd for skipping the 2nd floating bridge when he looked unbeatable. It's just been one thing after another for him, even having to finish Stage 1 in Vegas on one leg last year (then timing out by seconds on Stage 2).
It also feels different without “TR” shirts since Travis retired 😔✌️

When he got to the warped wall and was climbing over it the clock got messed up so his real time was 1:45:41

So why go for the top time and not the $10,000 of the Mega-wall? If he's struggling with it they have them at many of the big Ninja gyms to train. At his height he is built for a shot at the money. Unless they're offering something this year to the qualifier & city course winners....

@@noorm9275 If you watch Anton or Lucas Gomez videos on it you'll see that it's just a technique thing. It's not much harder than going up the 15-ft wall because of the curve of the ramp. It just takes practice and anyone who is athletically gifted (which is about all of the elite Ninjas) with a little bit of explosiveness should be able to do it. Someone of his height has a huge advantage if he just can get the practice time.
Considering you don't get any prize money unless you win and he has to know that there's little chance of winning, I would take a shot just for the hell of it. This year the rule is if you miss you can go back to the 14-ft wall so other than losing first place, there's no downside.

@@noorm9275 yeah, that's what I was wondering. If there was some prize or future advantage for finishing first I missed it and I looked it up but couldn't find any mention of it. That's why I was asking because it didn't make any sense to me.
Normally toward the end you're hurrying because your time is important to whether you qualify for Nationals but the field was so bad that they only had a handful of finishers at all so he literally could have taken three minutes between each attempt to rest and been fine. Even if he failed at the wall he would have easily moved on because Flip finished 9th and he failed on the 4th obstacle.
I hurt my knee back in March and ran the course with a brace... I missed the mega wall last year 3 times at 100%... there was no way I was getting it this year at 75%... Fastest time gets 3k. Thanks for supporting the show! 👍🏾
