    Mr Thomas,

    Please keep us informed with more like this great 👍👍👍 topic!😎 I have learned so much.
    Can you please elaborate on your alcohol stove setup too?

    I eat that same lemon pepper chicken several times a week. It is a good quick and easy source of protein. I mix it with Uncle Ben's brown and wild rice for a quick meal during the week. Good video as always my friend!

    Tablespoon of dehydrated carrots + celery + peas. Added would add to flavor

    looks good but perhaps a bit less water or a bit more rice? I think that chicen is ready to eat right out of the pouch so you could have cooked the rice then added the chicken... Is that right?

    • @tylerdixon3290
      @tylerdixon3290 Před 5 lety +2

      You're right about those chicken packs being already cooked. Personally i wouldve used less water, cooked the rice then added the chicken the last 5 minutes or so of boiling.

    • @BLACKIETHOMAS
      @BLACKIETHOMAS  Před 5 lety +3

      your both right..i had planned on letting the rice boil till it went soft and thicken like stew..thats why so much water at first..i planned to boil half of it off..but it was so hot that day i cut it short

    Hey Blackie great video.
    I have a question. Where did you get that canteen cup top. I been looking all over for one for my GI 65. I bought two thinking they’d work but cup is just a tad to big for the covers.
    Any help would be appreciated thank you!

    Don't mean to hijack the comments, but today CNN reported a big story on a New Jersey family of 4 out camping when a wolf attacked them. The attack was at night and all were fast asleep. Luckily, no one was killed, but there were injuries and the wolf almost carried off one of the children. Blackie, what do we do if something like this happens? What steps can we take to mitigate the danger??

    So it was 3/4 of canteen cup, not 3/4 of cup of water.
    How full was the burner when you started? Too much fuel will get hot enough to cause two foot flame to rise.

    • @BLACKIETHOMAS
      @BLACKIETHOMAS  Před 5 lety +1

      correct 3/4 canteen cup of water..stove was full...the problem with the stove was high daytime temps at or very close to 100 with heat index 115 or so..the fuel was evaping from the hot stove and forcing past the cap..the flame was never starved for fuel.. i do not think it was the stoves fault..just the conditions it was used in

    • @gijr2003
      @gijr2003 Před 5 lety +1

      BLACKIE THOMAS Burner should only be 2/3 full at max, if it's anything like a Trangia. I only fill mine half full and that's always burned long enough for boiling water and heating food in a canteen cup.
      One Trangia stove user said his burner sprayed fuel out and melted his aluminum pot he was using. S happens.
