I was in the coal mine picking up diamonds
that the miners had left behind, behind, behind
and i admired their cold shine
simple & bright
and i pocketed many in the cavernous night
clear, when held up to the light
you belong to no one
you are easy to be around
cuz you belong to no one
you are easy to be around
cuz you belong to no one
you are easy to be around
and i scattered them on the ground...
in the wake of your eyes it decays
you despise any weight
and because and because
and because you give it up
you are easy to be around
i like to walk beside you
you're so easy to be around
it's like i'm not even walking beside you
we are rolling along the ground
one shadow made of mercury
we were two 'til we melted down
now you're easy to be around
you're easy to be around...
i was in the coal mine picking up diamonds
so heavy i had to leave them all behind
coming up from the mineshaft
sparkling bright
see me laughing having nothing in an infinite night
clear, and dangling in the light
same as what you came with
makes you easy to be around
cuz the door remains the same width
y're so easy to be around
both forgetting what our name is
in a dance as the sun goes down
you are easy to be around
y're easy to be around
y're easy to be around
y're easy to be around
Absolutely one of my unknown favorites; sang it today.
And sang it again, today.
This is one of my favorite singer to go and see live ....shes totally fabulous and very nice to talk too as a friend. i haven't seen her since this tour when she played in malmlö
but she is a living evidence that the "chart list " has nothing to do whit music-talent or real-music
singers like her is worth 10000 x platinum records
Diane is a brilliant writer, music and word. She sums up so many complex emotions in such a simple and beautiful way. She's one of a kind, I'm thankful for her music. If I wasn't broke I'd like to support her by purchasing music, maybe one of these days... Btw, she sounds fantastic live 💜
she should have this song as # 1 world wide and 1000 x platinum records
Never heard of her before, but she throws a mean haunting melody.
this is my current favorite song
Hey madeline thanks for liking this comment from 12 years ago so I could remember this song and listen again!!
this song gives me wonderfull chills everytime I listen. such a beautiful voice, such a beautiful person.
i discover Diane Cluck through a Emmy the Great song, now i love her.
i'd love to see her love. shes so honest.
I’m obsessed with this song
Too bad no one is supporting her but I found out about her researching Florence Welche's favorite artists... but what sticks in my mind is
SHE IS THE FEMALE BRIAN MOLKO FROM PLACEBO!!! Can no one else hear it? Stylistically too.
Omg you're right. I can't unhear it now.
Still a favorite of mine too my first favorited song on CZcams
something about this i cant even begin to describe it
SOOOO great! love this one!!
i love this song. i love her. she is soooo beautiful.
thank you so much for uploading this thank you thank you
13 years later and getting to see her live twice now I still wholeheartedly thank you for this video!
yeasss... very good song. Though i discovered emmy because she was supporting Diane. ; ) winner. xxx
as far as i fucking know, and i actually know a bunch, this is the best song so far. the woman is a genius. a saint. wtf even is this?
24 is the name of the song, she says: "you are still not charles bukowski and i am not diane cluck "
I LOVE THIS SONG

[Bridge]
In the wake of your eyes
It decays, you despise any weight
And because, and because
And because you give it up
You are easy to be around
I like to walk beside you
You're so easy to be around
It's like I'm not even walking beside you
We are rolling along the ground
One shadow made of mercury
We were two till we melted down
Now you're easy to be around
You're easy to be around
Easy to be around
Easy to be around
[Verse]
Oh I was in the coal mine
Picking up diamonds so heavy
I had to leave them all behind
Coming up from the mineshaft sparkling bright
See me laughing, having nothing in an infinite night
Clear and dangling in the light
[Chorus]
Same as what you came with
Makes you easy to be around
Cause the door remains the same width
You're so easy to be around
Both forgetting what our name is
In a dance as the sun goes down
You are easy to be around
You are easy to be around
You are easy to be around
You are easy to be around
damn this is beautiful
i think i love her too much.
DM Stith does an incredible cover of this song.
lovely, unpretentious voice. kind of sounds like Laura Marling. I'm sure she was around first but its high praise.
DM Stith made a cover of this song, so beautiful that it could actually make you forget the original one. Yes. Don't even say it is impossible 'til you'll hear the cover.
The only song I really like by her, I'm sorry to say, but I REALLY LIKE IT.
i seriously dont care that you think diane cluck is untalented, have your own opinion, I just cannot wrap myself around why, how, seriously?
She's the foster mom from Terminator 2!
i want to harmonize
which emmy the great song?
my pocket is full of kryptonite
@madeleinevincent
I just posted one, but i don't know why it seems like it's impossible to find it through the research function, so just go on my profile and enjoy :)
*live
the DM Stith cover was a completely pointless venture...this is easily better by any standards, and this is despite undying love for DMS. 3:30 - 3:45 just breaks my heart, the live version is so much better!
