Ammo in a fire is not nothing to worry about, but its not especially dangerous either. the round is dangerous when it is trapped in a gun breach at the front and the bolt at the back. Now all of the gas pressure from the exploding charge acts on the bullet to push it down the barrel. The barrel captures the gas so it continues to accelerate. the bullet til it exits the barrel. When a round goes off in a fire the explosive charge sends the bullet this way and the casing that way with nothing to hold pressure on either part. I watched a YT vid showing a round held to a rod with zip ties and detonated. it was aimed at a 2L bottle of water from about a foot away. The round shot off and the bullet BOUNCED off the plastic bottle.

Because the videos need to be edited. The drive there honestly isn't that interesting.
