  • Emma Wood is a remarkable new convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! We had the great opportunity of hearing her conversion story. Growing up in Arizona, she knew about members of the LDS Church (otherwise known as the Mormon Church) but didn't have much interest in joining. She decided to go to school in Utah where she began learning more about the Church. She went through some challenging faith crises and had many, many questions about this emerging faith. After years of diligent study, Emma took a huge leap of faith and chose to be baptized. You don't want to miss this episode!!

    My father joined the Church in 1951. He attended church regularly before but was always wondering about those who died without knowing the Gospel or Jesus. Every minister, pastor or priest he met told him those people were going to Hell. That always bothered him. When he learned the Plan of Salvation, he knew he'd found the true church.

    Emma's experiences remind me of myself at that age! The first time I entered a chapel, and was greeted by two missionaries at the door, I felt an overwhelming wave of the Spirit wash over and through me. I was only 15 and my parents forbade me to go again.
    Then I had a similar journey that Emma had.
    Eventually when I was 20, I took the missionary lessons from two wonderful sisters and was baptised in 1981 at the age of 21.
    Knowing the power of the priesthood and that we have true, living prohets with the authority of God, to guide our steps on the covenant path to Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Parents, I gained a powerful testimony.
    Every time partaking of the Sacrament, every time seeking a priesthod blessing, every time attending the temple, I am so humbled by Christ's Atonement and how we can apply it to every circumstance in our lives. Welcome dear Sister!

      Absolutely correct Ryan. This is THE challenge of our human condition. The devil's problem was pride, and it's also our primary problem/challenge. We may not recognise it, but personal pride runs deep within us. We don't really trust God with our present or future. We fool ourselves that we can only trust ourselves to look after our best interests. The basis of surrender is trust, and if we don't REALLY trust God, then we'll never truly surrender and can never be a true disciple of Christ. God bless you for your spiritual honesty - you've recognized the greatest impediment to a joyful spiritual life.

      I think a lot of people have problems with this, because they cannot separate the sexuality of it from the compassion of it. Women in general, are more spiritual than men, that is why they were given the responsibility of raising children, because God wanted to give the children the best chance of being taught properly, to return to God in his presence. With this extra spirituality, there will be more women than men to return to God. There is the celestial law that says you must be married to be in the celestial kingdom. If not, you can not have an increase like God the Father. Joseph needed to have the knowledge and understanding of this principle, in order to set up the church, and be a judge of the last dispensation. He never did like the idea, and every woman he entered into marriage with, he gave them the opportunity to turn him down. He had only consummated the marriage with two of them. No, the 14 year old was not one of them. People write false books about him to slander him to turn people away from the church, just like the white salamander letters, and the reason why they would not accept the 116 pages back into the BOM translation if they had been given back.
      About the 14 year old, women and men were married quite young back then, because of the shortness of the lifespan of humanity. 50 was pretty old, so it was pretty common for this age to get married back then.

    • @walrusbfv6862
      @walrusbfv6862 Před rokem

      God does desire faith more than correct belief. Remember, in the parable of the talents, Christ did not care whether a servant brought forth 2 or 5 talents, because they received differing amounts originally.
      This being said, the lds church is still the most correct church. I know this from its beautiful points of doctrine restored from teachings in christs days as well as modern revelation, insight into my eternity outside of this probationary state, and the Book of Mormon which is a true account of ancient American civilizations. I know that god did not abandon his children and simply placed a book that could be interpreted 849 different ways and call it good. He directs us today using prophets as he did in the days of Moses, Elijah, John(s) etc.

      @walrusbfv6862 and your Bible parable does represent false belief. You omitted the 3rd servant, who is the moral of the story. That servant falsely believed that God simply wanted him to protect the 1 talent and return it when asked. False beliefs called out and rebuked. God loves the faithful and gave them His Word, the Bible, for teaching and reproof. Too much of the LDS beliefs contradict Bible teachings.

    I've watched several of these videos now. The recurring theme is the original sin to which Eve fell prey "Did God really say...?" Whether it's the interviewers or interviewees, they are adding to God's Word (Book of Mormon) or rejecting God's Word (Trinitarian Godhead, supporting female pastors and sexual perversion). They are choosing their preferences or feelings over God's Word. What's also interesting is that the Restorationist movement has so many similarities w/ the pentecostal and NAR movement popular today (sadly many of their heretical beliefs have infiltrated Evangelical/non-Denom churches). These people are not satisfied with what God's Word teaches and seek a "word from the Lord" or modern day apostles and prophets to guide them. If you want a modern day prophet or apostle, then read Genesis to Revelation -the words of the true and only Apostles and Prophets written millennia ago are just as relevant and instructional today and they all point to the Savior Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man to pay the penalty for man's sin. W/o that Jesus, there is no hope of salvation.
