2024 Acura Integra Type S | Back with a Vengeance

- I remember testing Type S models from the past: CL, TL and RSX come to mind not to mention this car’s archetype the Integra Type-R. But for many years in between Acura mostly downplayed its racier spirit but that has changed with the reintroduction of Type S, available on TLX, MDX, ZDX and perhaps most appropriately, this Integra. A larger, more powerful engine, an active exhaust system, wider, NSX-inspired wheels wrapped in Michelin Z-speed rated rubber, specific downforce-inducing aero, a suspension tuned for crisper handling and fitted with adaptive dampers for greater dynamics, Brembo binders on the front, more communicative steering and a power up Sport+ drive mode constitute the Type S upgrades priced at $20,000 over a garden variety Integra.
MSRP as-tested: $53,595

This an it's cousin the Type R are an absolute pleasure to look at.
Car and driver said it's (one of)the best car under $100k
Wow! That’s some praise.

With so many cars going overboard with screens and unnecessary complications, glad a car like this is still available today with the manual. I kept my 2003 3.2 CL Type S 6-spd manual for 12 years. Still drove as new after 175,000 miles. As with some others, get'em while you can. Great review, Steve, beautifully captured, too!

I have one. Purchased it in December before the $1,000 price increase. I love it. I just need to drive it more.
I 🥰 this car. Great job Acura.
Awesome review as always!
I appreciate that
It looks really good, exterior and interior!
This car is bad ass!
*62/38 front heavy weight distribution, cheap rear passenger space (no armrest, USBs, vents) and no sunroof area deal breakers.*
good thng people are buying this car for how well it drives not for the USB ports
If only there was an AWD version. Would be the perfect grown up Golf R.
I like it!
i wish we got the white interior in canada, that and the blue exterior would be my type s of choice
Can you do audiobooks, your voice premium for audio
Ha!! Maybe that’s a new career.
Props to their North American product mgr for adding memory seats and sunroof. Oh wait…
Nothing I care about. If performance matters most, then this is your car. If amenities matter most, then the A-Spec with Technology is the better choice.
I think they need to bring back the zdx … ahead of its time
They did! It’s an EV.
If I had this Integra Type S, I would worry about torque steer. Because of this torque steer, I wish Acura would offer SH-AWD only in the Type S. However, Honda/ Acura fanboys will reject this idea.
The AwD will add more weight and would completely change the Integra concept. For the old school Honda fan it's they would stay true to the fwd only for this model which makes it an Integra. If you want AWD stick with the Acura tlx type S AWD.
Did you know Honda engineered the front suspension in such a way that torque steer is barely noticeable?
That is one of the reason is considered a great car among reviewers.
As others said, adding AWD will make it heavier and will cut down drastically the agility that the car currently has. The car outperforms many AWD competitors around the track.
Fortunately the LSD is so good that you won't notice any torque-steer unless you're driving like Vin Diesel
93 octane is about impossible to find here
Very nice Integra. Wish they would have given it a sunroof or panoramic roof.
If it had a sunroof it would be a perfect car.
Don't understand the whole deal of a sunroof. Is just a hassle.
Is a failure point, if the glass cracks you will be in deep trouble.
If you open it wind noise will take over the cabin. Add a winddeflector and get ready for scratch marks in the paint.
Can't open it if the roof is wet.
Acura has one mission. Bring the full formula of the CTR and make it a bit more street friendly.
A sunroof will ruin the formula by raising the center of gravity with the added weight in the roof.
@@Marbindworst of all, it will leak if not taken care of (drain). i wish my car didnt have a sunroof.
Add weight 😊
@@Marbind You definitely don't get it lol
I have the a spec witht the sunroof and i wouldn't really miss it if it wasn't there @@Marbind
cheap looking interior
Very nice Integra
