If you have tried to use any condenser anywhere, you would have realised that most important is to fill the condenser up with water to make it an efficient cooling device. If top end is used as inlet, the water will just flow down from sides of condenser and go out without completely filling it. This would not be water condenser, but air condenser! The direction of water in condenser has nothing to do with direction of vapours to be cooled. I have nothing more to say!

for a water condenser, the water inlet should be at the bottom not at the top for proper condensation.

The inlet for condenser has to be at the bottom and not at the top to ensure that the condenser gets filled up properly and does its job!
Thank you for the information... But direction of flow of water in condenser is opposite to direction of flow of vapour for effective condensation.
