Joel and I dig into the true definitions of HIIT and LISS cardio, and when to use each one when it comes to your training.
There's many misconceptions about HIIT and most people don't do true high intensity interval training, but end up doing too much high effort conditioning (which slows down their results) and don't use low intensity steady state cardio because they don't know all the benefits to it.
We go over both and why and when to use them as it pertains to your goals.
Great post. Never gets old hearing Joel clear things up about LISS.
HITT + LISS = king of fitness
Awesome video. Just about every sports coach and group fitness instructor needs to watch this. Amount of time see coaches flog people into the ground for no reason in community sport is crazy.
Most underrated channel must be known to every coaches around the world,
Coach Luka is a great person, I'm inspired by him and became NASM certified personal trainer. I've been following him since a year
Great video Luka. If someone doesn't have a Polar or Morpheus belt how we can now in which zone we are? If we use the talk test and how?
Thank you
Liss = 70-80% is moderate intensity at any level. Walking (is not 80%) which is liss. Wow!
For some people who've never worked out a day in their life they can fall in that range. There are countless ppl who are out of breathe just even walking alone.
im doing a sled routine but more for strength and endurance cardio, I do 20 seconds X 30 rounds in 30 min. Weight is roughly bodyweight. How would you class this? im in the process of adding 5KG every 2 weeks until my form breaks down or I hit my target of 1.25 body weight. for me its close to max effort where I need to lie down on the floor for 3 or 4 minutes at the end to get my breath back. Also if I need to increase break between rounds Ill do that or build up the rounds to 30. The next part of the plan is to half the weight and do the 30 rounds in a shorter time. Just wondering if there is "junk volume" in there and ought to cut it back to 10 or 15 rounds? the sled is a low fatigue exercise which is good, outside of the gym I jog and cycle
Aerobic and anaerobic
Great topic, but 13 mins is a lot. At least maybe sum it all up in 2 mins, then give the detailed breakdown afterwards.
