  • First Try 2024 Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD 130 BOA GW Ski Boots with Snow Camps Europe
We wanted to bring you the on-snow test and review this week although given the weather the mountain has been closed so we have still not been able to get out and film the boot being tested in an Alpine Skiing environment.
In this video, we try the boot for the first time, check out the walk/hike mode and clip functions and get to feel the flex of the boot and the Boa rapping the four feet. My first impression is the boot is a super tight fit right out of the box which is great and the Boa feels very different to a four-clip boot.
The Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD 130 BOA GW is a high-performance all-mountain ski boot that combines first-class alpine performance and high efficiency when climbing.
    Features:
Mimic Platinum Linner that can be heat moulded to the feet.
Memory Fit Shell that can be heat moulded to give the perfect fit.
Boa Fit System gives a wrap-around closure to the boot around the foot.
98mm Slim last a narrow last for an optimal foothold.
Prolite Shell PU plastic. Revolutionary lightweight construction with supportive reinforcements in key areas.
Smooth pivot point. Igus polymer pivot bearing: for absolutely natural freedom of movement and energy-saving climbing.
Free/Lock 4.5. Atomic's most stable ascent/descent mechanism with adjustable forward angle; easy to remove snow and ice.
Energy Backbone. Reinforcements in key areas: more stability and edge grip for powerful skiing.
True Flex PU/PU. This exclusive shell material from Atomic shows the same flex behaviour at all temperatures.

Have you tried the Atomic Hawx? How do you find the fit?

How big the difference is between 98 and 100 last? I'm skiing a 100 last (which is not necessarily a really snug fit) at the moment but I have an opportunity to grab the non BOA version for a cheap price, but at 98mm last.

The short answer is 2mm 🙂 But 98mm is classed as LV (Low Volume) 100mm is MV (medium volume)

@@SnowCampsEurope Yeh but do you have any insight about how much that 2mm means in action. For example if someone skis a 100 last boot, is he going to just roll around in pain when forcing into a 98 ski boot?

@saureeeegogo How wide does your foot measure at the widest point? The liner and shell can both be heated up and I think they can get something like 2mm to 4mm of stretch out of the shell @@saureeeegogo
