Austin left The Game Theorists, so all his videos on here are unlisted, you can find them in done playlists here on YT, but he has his own channel now
look for this playlist "The SCIENCE! in chronological order" and you'll found all of austin's videos, and i think all of the in game theorist channel
Austin made a video on it recently

Great video and super funny, but you forgot to mention that there is some sort of huge wormhole under the city that is keeping the gravity all wierd.
Where did Austin's videos go? This is literally the only THE SCIENCE I can find outside the old shoddycast stuff.
The company that bought game theory didn't like a third person running the channel so they let him go. Austin's re-uploading them to his channel. The videos aren't gone they're unlisted.
Honestly a really great game, didn’t expect it to have such beautiful animations and design considering its a mobile game
Mirroria the floating city comes to life with Ray tracing on
Austin left game theory, he’s over at the shoddycast now. Which is really sad since he was the only reason I watch gametheory at all anymore
I didn’t watch this one until now because it was green and I didn’t notice it among the matpat videos I don’t care about.
11:32 idk why that little “WOW” made me laugh so hard but I haven’t stopped about 90 seconds in SO THERES THAT
This one begs the question: Angel Island from Sonic the Hedgehog. If the Master Emerald is the thing keeping it afloat, does that require the ME to be big/dense enough to create its own field of gravity? And consequently, when it shatters and the shards fall to earth, what kind of damage are we looking at? 🧐 I’m no scientist but could be an interesting thought experiment.
The emeralds are magical and similarly to almost every object in videogames, they don't follow E=mc2, it doesn't need to be massive or hyper dense to be powerful, whatever is keeping angel island afloat is just some ancient levitation device that uses the emerald's magic power as a source
If the emerald was the source of the levitation by itself, everything would be attracted to it, not levitated upwards
@@skylex157 How about how much power is required to have an island floating
@@CB0516 wouldn't that be the exact same as this episode but changing the numbers to fit angel island or whatever island you want to levitate?
It's really depressing knowing these videos are gone now. Sure, they're only unlisted and you can still find them in this Ron Dizzle guy's "The Science" playlist (thanks man), but knowing they're unlisted, that you can't search them up, that it represents Austin permanently _gone_ from the Game Theorists... it sucks. It really sucks. I'll miss Austin.
It does suck but he is going back to doing the science on shoddycast so he's doing allright thankfully

O: there was a Princess Bride reference?
8:35 "What's more interesting is the buildings that don't just go up they go down as well."
Oh no, Austin forgot about basements.
To be fair, basements aren't a thing for like half the continental US landmass. Southeast is too close to sea level, ground water makes it effectively impossible. The southwestwest and probably a lot of area too close to the mountains won't do it due to seismic issues. And even then they tend to not go downward more than 1 floor.
I was shown a ToF ad just as I clicked on the video. The kicker: being asked how relevant it is to the video I'm about to watch.
7:00 as the woodwind captain of a high school marching band I can confidently say yes
Austin was the best part of game theory and I'm so sad they let him go he was litterly the best part of the channel.
At least he's fine with it, if anything although yes it's sad it allows him to truly make what HE wants, that's the thing, while he liked working with the GT team the issue was he couldn't take any real risks as it was someone else's channel, now he can do what he really wants to do, besides its not like there's bad blood between them, it was a mutual understanding
It seemed like it was what HE wanted since GT was/is going through changes there's no beef on either sides of the parties
I absolutely love Austin, I Need more of him.
Sub to shoddycast then. Austin will no longer be making videos here. Latest vid explains why.

I'm not familiar with the lore but I feel like if there was some super energy source then you could have a machine that makes liquid nitrogen from the air around the city. Make the city out of a super conductor. then use the liquid nitrogen on the superconductor in the city to lock it to the planets magnetic field. I don't know if our planet has a strong enough magnetic field for that but if their world has a stronger magnetic field then I assume it would work. Quantum levitation would be a fun way to make a city fly.
Damn they really floating the Memphis bass pro
how power efficient are repelling magnetic fields at floating large amounts of matter?
Just change one property and a little hand-waving in your universe: make mass/gravity a di-pole… you can have two different kinds of material, that repels each other. It would be logical, that planets form from mostly one kind, with some of the other (comets bringing that in). Then your inhabitants collect that „strange material“, build something-let’s say a pyramid- and attach „normal material“ buildings to of similar mass and bam! Floating city…
GOLUM czcams.com/video/0-rj80lMBzc/video.html
So many freaking bots, lord help me
I was thinking something different but kinda in the same vein. He said the energy needed was for propulsion, right? Maybe a magnetic field would be more energy efficient to maintain. There are trains that use this technology already, though it is to move mass and not just keep it hovering, so I don't know how that could affect the energy usage.
How the material come if the gravity was inverted for it? Wouldn't comets just be pushed a different way by gravity, not hitting the planet at all? You gotta make something up like magic turned normal material into antigraviton or something.
@@jacobc9221 Comets can fly at a terrifying speed and carrying various material so I think that they can crash into the planet and stay hovering around if some chunks don't have enough power to push themselves back out of the planet's atmosphere.
It being repelled from the planet would result in it being completely absent. It'd make more sense to just make manipulation of gravity possible.
These science videos were always insane and super scientific. They were the best part of this channel, and it is a shame to see them go.

I love your videos, very fun way to tackle a bit of science education!
Only thing that this episode lacks is an analysis on how much energy proficient is orium
Enough to provide over 600,000 TW/h of energy, probably. Whether that’s an ounce of the stuff or a ton is unknown, but even if you filled the pyramid with Orium it would be way more efficient than anything we currently know to exist.
Indeed it does. I'd love to know how many anti-matter bombs' worth of power they produce every second :>.

When you were getting your weight of the city/buildings, wouldn't they be heavier due to it being in the gravity scale of Jupiter and not Earth?
Why are there so many bots in here!
Oh yeah, Austin absolutely missed that part. It's no problem calculating though:
23.76 (Game's gravity) divided by 9.807 (Earth's gravity) equals 2.423 rounded up.
Just multiply the 323,801,692,901N Austin got by this number and boom! You get precisely 784,571,501,899.123 Newtons, which is even more insane than the original assumption.
Yes, but no. Kg is a measure of mass and not weight and that's why math is much easier :)
Gosh there are so many bots. To answer your question, he accounted for this at 12:13. Basically the metric system uses kilos as a unit of mass, while pounds are units of weight/force. He took the weight of a building and divided it by 9.8m/s per second, earth’s gravity, to find its mass, which was used in this calculation to find the weight of the city, which is the same as the force needed to keep it up.
@@NickAndriadze no he didn’t. I guess it wasn’t explained the greatest but he did account for that correctly. He took the weight of the building in pounds and converted it to kilos, a unit of mass. At 12:13 he multiplies it my the game world’s gravity to find its in game weight. I have no idea what you are doing with those numbers. If the weight was throwing off the original calculation, which it’s not, you would need to redo the entire thing.

I feel like he should have added a bit on what would happen if it just suddenly lost power and fell out of the air
Well apparently a floating city would destroy the world in avengers age of Ultron so we can just think that
@@Evitzeoshowerthoughts yea the stronger gravity alone would make the impact harder than it would be on earth.
Well, energy from gravity is equal to mass times height times acceleration due to gravity. I don’t think he mentioned how high the city is floating, but that would be the only number necessary to get an energy and compare it to probably nuclear weapons.
I literally just got an ad for Tower of fantasy before the start of this video
speaking of cube games with dark things have you tried a puzzle game cube escape its right up youre alley
Or you could just make a blimp/balloon city and spare yourself the massive energy costs. The major downside with this is that your city will be vulnerable to extreme winds, so geographical location will be important. Some areas that work for this are the doldrums, Peruvian mountains, and Antarctica.
