  • Urban warfare expert John Spencer gives an overview of the general military strategies of Israel and Hamas in their ongoing war. Spencer is a US combat veteran who runs the Urban Warfare Institute at West Point and has visited Gaza twice since the war that started on October 7th. He's fought in some of the biggest battles of the 21st century, including the Battle of Mosul.
In Roca's interview with him, we asked about the Hamas chain of command, the civilian deaths in the war, the military strategies of each side, the use of tunnels, and much more.

Roca is becoming the same joke of a source that most other mainstream media organizations have become. You invited a guy who from the onset began peddling very specific talking points and stances while offering jack shit about actual strategy from an objective lens.
He was focused on his talking points and mythical realities that he brushed over blatant lies and low IQ comments about strategy.
For starters, Hamas’ objective was never to push up north and maintain a presence. Though October 7 was clearly well-planned and thought out, the execution of it was very much on the fly. It seemed to very much be “see how far you can get with what you have”. In some parts of the border, they reached a few hundred meters into Israeli territory before being repelled by reinforcements. In others, we saw them penetrate deep into places like Sderot where they held out for hours, sometimes days. There was no cohesive push or concerted effort past much of the initial phases. They don’t have the resources or manpower to sustain any kind of presence past the wall, much less move in a particular direction. The biggest mistake that self-absorbed wrenches from West Point make is to assume that asymmetrical opponents operate on the same principles as a conventional foe. It’s why these jokes of strategists lost in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

If having on diverse perspectives makes us a joke, then we are a joke. We’ve had on and will continue to feature differing voices on this issue and other issues. John is a leading voice in the conversation, so we had him on. I’m glad we did. We also trust our audience enough to draw their own conclusions from what the different voices we feature. Do you have a guest you would suggest? Happy to reach out

      @@WeThe66 “diverse perspectives”
You have a platform to a borderline propagandist who brought nothing of concrete value to the conversation and regurgitated the same dialogue that’s been dominant throughout mainstream media. You offered zero diversity in perspectives by bringing him in.
In using a trust in your viewers to come to their own conclusions as a counterargument, you downplay the very issue prevalent in MSM that Roca claims to want to address. Let’s not play dumb and pretend like the average person in the west can magically find out what’s going on in Gaza on their own. Both passively and directly, they will gain their insight based on what the media tells them, and when the media gives the wrong platforms attention on these issues, that’s when it turns into an issue.

@@mnsage19 moreso a propagandist from the biggest imperialist entity on earth regurgitating the same chain of lies we hear on a daily basis about the IOF in Gaza.
There isn’t a moral universality with taking sides on this issue. The moment you choose to accept any of the IDF’s lies and take an active stance on a platform to promote and justify them, you are complicit in the willing murder of tens of thousands of civilians.

Hamas got much deeper into Israel than Sderot. They were all the way into Netivot which is 15km from Gaza. They also attempted to get to Tel Aviv but were repelled. Maybe not to hold, but to penetrate and wreak havoc. Maybe you’re just upset his analysis didn’t paint Hamas as the freedom fighters you undoubtedly think they are.
