He should have told to surrender to the self right? This evident from the Puranas also. Draupadi when in trouble cried for Shri Krishna..she did not went into trance or meditation ..

See when Krishna says me, he means the self(Atman, Brahma) itself coz he's a liberated person so he and Atman is the same. The problem is within us, we even bring Krishna down to our level that we interpret me as I, my, myself that's ego. But Krishna isn't ego, Krishna is consciousness.
So in this verse Krishna is saying that abandon all varieties of Dharma(here Dharma means all kinds of KarmaKand people followed in those days) and surrender to me, meaning Atman/Bodh/self.
If u start worshipping Krishna that is Krishna as a human being, god, body i.e. a particular person then you have started another dharma or cult or practice or tradition which Krishna himself told to abandon.

Chapters 1, 2, and 11 of the Bhagavad Gita are focused on convincing Arjuna to follow his caste duties by making him fight the battle. It provides justification for the war and killing while giving the logic, which doesn’t make sense, that all things are going to end, man is bound to die and it doesn’t make any difference whether man dies of natural death or is killed in the violence. Such is the main idea of the book and anyone believing or preaching such ideas can’t be sane, let alone worthy of reverence

Indian history is full of these gurus and special humans. But we did not worship them. We worship only God like Mahadev, Shri Ram and Shri Krishna. Because our Gurus told our past society to do. They know very well about the GOD. You should read Srimadh Bhagavatam. Watch Mahabharat. Krishna is the supreme one of all. Krishna given the GEETA Gyan. Nobody knew about that before. Afterall it's your choice believe or not.

For example, shloka
असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलं।
अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते।
It says the same thing as अभ्यासवैराग्थाभ्यां तन्निरोधः sutra of Yogadarshana. But the Sutra is in a context covering this topic A to Z Geeta just mentions it without details.
So Gita was not new to the world at that time. Anyway here in Maharastra, Some people have started worshiping Raje as an incarnation of Shiva. Surely he will be worshipped in temples in next 800-900years. Will you Worship him as Shiva ?

Shree Krishna has been mentioned way before birth of lord krishna like in Purans about incarnations of lord Vishnu on the planet, in rigved it’s written the ultimate mantra to attain salvation/moksh in kalyug is “hare ram hare ram ram ram hare hare, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna hare hare” 🙏
Shri Krishna and MahaVishnu are the same being in two different forms.. Shri Krishna is an incarnation of Maha Vishnu: This is substantiated by the fact that before the advent of Shri Krishna in the jail, Lord MahaVishnu appeared in front of Devaki and Vasudev. Then He became baby Krishna.

There's a misconception about avatar and the real roop of bhagwan. Ram and all etc are avatars of bishnu but krishna is swayam vishnu. That is why after his birth he started all of his Leela ❤️

Lord Krishna could have killed Jarasandha earlier as well but it was not his time. Don't forget that Lord Krishna always had depth in his plans. So you can't say that Jarasandh was so powerful that even Lord Krishna was not able to defeat him.

to be killed by Bhagavan, they should have lots of Attachment towards Bhagavan in previous lives, and Jarasanda did not have, 17 times Bhagavan left him after defeating him because he used to bring more Asura kings towards him to Fight thus enabling Bhagavan to do his Yuga Dharma duty of cleaning all asuras in form of kings in one place, rather them going each and every asura king and fighting.

Caste and caste duties in Bhagavad Gita
There is ample justification in the Bhagavad Gita alone to maintain caste divisions & oppression.
“I created mankind in four classes, different in their qualities and actions; though unchanging, I am the agent of this, the actor who never acts!” (Bhagavad Gita 4:13)
Verse 4:13 within the Bhagavad Gita shows that mankind is established into four classes (varnas). This means that castes which have been created are not changeable because they are set when people are created. You are born with a caste and die in the same caste.

The strictness of caste responsibilities is mentioned clearly in verses 3:4 and 3:5 of Bhagavad Gita.
“A person can never achieve freedom from reactions to activities without first performing prescribed Vedic duties: neither can perfection be attained by renouncing them as well.” (Bhagavad Gita 3:4)
“No one exists for even an instant, without performing an action; however unwilling, every being is forced, to act by the qualities of nature.” (Bhagavad Gita 3:5)

I came to us in 1988 at age of 16. No interest in religion. When I was growing up in India. I use to do Hanuman Chalisa and Recite Gaytri Mantra in morning till I was 14 Year old. I did my fair share of dumb and stupid things while in college. One of my Indian friend who came to us in 1996. He introduced me to B.R Chopra Mahabharat. Oh My god. I finished whole Mahabharat serial in less than 10 days. He also introduced me to Swadhyay parivar. My life has been changed. I travel for my work for about 8 months a year. I do miss Swadhyay sunday morning for 8 months. I always come back Sunday afternoon from my work. Every Sunday evening, I am at ISKON temple. Lord Krishna is the ultimate truth. I am not very smart with philosophy to understand lord Shiva. May be in next life.

So many minerals are there in bihar. Ganga river makes it's soil fertile. Magadh was education center at that time. It means Magadh was rich in natural resources with educated people. Everyone knows that agriculture and mineral rich state can have industry that lead to developed economy.

Like others have mentioned, Bihar was prosperous mainly due to the large Ganga river and it's tributaries which led to massive population rise due to large areas of agricultural land. Huge population means great economy and taxes for the king and also a large army. This coincided with cultural and educational prosperity in the region such as various gurukuls imparting education and then later establishment of universities such as Nalanda and Vikramshila and continuous cultural flowering due to rise of Buddhism and Jainism.
All of this came to an end during the turkic invasions and Bihar became the hunger, poverty stricken and crime capital of India.

In srimadbhawatam Shree Krishna says to uddhav Paramhans, that o my dear uddhav who tell about my incarnations and powers that is only their love towards me like a child and like a water drop of the ocean. Actually Devaki was one of the daughters of Devaka, younger brother of Ugrasena. Her sisters were Dhrtadeva, Santideva, Upadeva, Srideva, Devaraksita, and Sahadeva. She had 4 brothers as well. Thus she & her siblings were 1st cousins to Kamsa.
