  • Welcome to Ubiquiti Insider, where we share insights into the latest Ubiquiti R&D advancements.
    [00:12] We are thrilled to officially release UniFi OS 3.2 which includes several significant updates.
    - UniFi Identity has been redesigned to run instantly, completely free and off-cloud on UniFi Consoles such as Dream Machines and Network Video Recorders.
    - Shadow Mode is now available on the Dream Machine Pro and SE. This high availability feature allows you to install a secondary gateway that’s fully synced and on standby for failover in case of unexpected hardware failures.
    - We also introduced the industry’s first visual VLAN configuration tool, which we call VLAN Magic.
    Learn More: community.ui.com/releases/Uni...
    [01:07] The UniFi Site Manager at unifi.ui.com/ delivers a magical multi-site management experience:
    - Revamped Site Overview dashboard features ISP Health and other key site metrics for quick, insightful monitoring.
    - View all of your sites from this dashboard, including ones within UniFi Network’s multi-site management - a handy feature for organizations that manage many sites with a CloudKey, Official UniFi Hosting, or a Self-Hosted UniFi Network Server.
    - Site Magic makes Site-to-Site VPN and SD-WAN setup easier than ever. Instead of configuring complicated, manual Site-to-Site VPNs between multiple gateways, simply select the sites and subnets to connect through the Site Manager. You can now interconnect up to 10 sites with Site Magic, a number that will continue to increase with future updates.
    - We added Global Admin Management for effortless management of site access and permissions for all team members from a single interface. We plan to extend this feature to hosted UniFi Network Server sites for a seamless admin management across all site types.
    - Global Device Management gives you a centralized view of all deployed UniFi devices across sites.
    [02:56] Network 8.0.24 introduces Admin Settings Change Logs for a complete audit trail of all settings changes. It also increases the VLAN limit from 64 to 255 for most deployments, and supports additional 5 and 6 GHz channels internationally.

    [03:14] We welcomed our UniFi 7 product line with the U7 Pro. Experience true multi-gigabit speeds with interference-free 6 GHz WiFi, plus improved performance and stability with next-generation WiFi 7 technology. Stay tuned as we’ll be releasing more UniFi 7 access points in the coming months.
    Learn more: store.ui.com/products/u7-pro
    [03:34] We are proud to announce UniFi Ultra, a new class of products that are ultra compact and capable, with incredible value. We started with the Swiss Army Knife - our most compact WiFi access point yet. Roughly the size of an iPhone, it can be installed indoors or outside with support for versatile wall, ceiling, and pole mounting. Plug-and-play with the internal antenna for instant WiFi, or attach an external, long-range antenna for performance tailored to your use case. The Swiss Army Knife is specifically designed to provide reliable connectivity at an affordable price point in under-networked international markets.

    [04:10] Pro Max Switching is here, combining 2.5 gigabit Ethernet performance with high-power PoE++ output. Pro Max switches are ideal for 6 GHz WiFi access points, such as the U7 Pro and U6 Enterprise series, and also feature Etherlighting - our latest innovation that makes cable management a dream.
    Learn more: store.ui.com/?category=switch...
    [04:40] We released UniFi Cable Internet in the United States. This multi-gigabit, rack-mountable cable modem offers a clean, uniform aesthetic with UniFi rack-mount equipment and is supported by Comcast Business plus residential service from Comcast Xfinity, Charter Spectrum, and Cox.
    Learn more: store.ui.com/products/uci
    [04:59] The Power Distribution Hi-Density is an unparalleled power management solution equipped with automatic modem recovery and remote power cycling functionality for connected devices.
    More: store.ui.com/products/usp-pdu-hd
    [05:16] For UniFi Access deployments with elevators, we designed the new Elevator Starter Kit for authorized floor selection using an in-elevator access reader.
    - Supports up to 18 floors
    - Includes digital inputs for car status, car position, and fire alarm system integration.

      With the new 'Pro Max' (ugh, what a dumb name) line-up of switches now available, I'd assume an Enterprise line-up refresh isn't that far off. The two line-ups are too close in spec currently, it doesn't really make sense.

  • @timramich
    @timramich Před 7 měsíci +2

    Are you ever going to make switches with all SFP ports (24 or 48), and uplink ports with more than 25 gig? All of my access points run through fiber and have media converters on the other end. I currently use a Brocade switch for this. Do your switches even have the capability to do their own routing instead of relying on something like the UDM Pro to do routing for inter-VLAN traffic? Also on the uplink ports, my server uses 40 gig QSFP+. Would be nice to have a solution to make it all the same ecosystem.

      Hi-Capacity Aggregation
      USW-Pro-Aggregation
      $899.00
      A 32-port, Layer 3 switch made for high-capacity 10G SFP+ and 25G SFP28 connections.
      (28) 10G SFP+ ports
      (4) 25G SFP28 ports
      DC power backup-ready
      Layer 3 switching
      Spf+ if I recall does go down to 1gig
      Has built-in layer 3 routing
      Looks like it has what you need.

    • @timramich
      @timramich Před 6 měsíci

      @@c82us No, it's NOT what I need. Ubiquiti's lineup of switches is asinine when it comes to port layout. They offer nothing remotely close to what the real switch makers do unless it's all RJ45. That and it's $900. Way overpriced, when 10 gig is ancient tech.

    • @c82us
      @c82us Před 6 měsíci

      @@timramich ok who me what your looking at that has 24 or 48 ports that are spf or spf+ these are not rj45 ports.
      My quick looking I am seeing lots of 48 port switches but they are rj45 1 gig layer 2 not layer 3 routing and don't integrate into a single plane of view that unifi uses.
      You asked for 1 gig did not say price range the 1 gig rj 45 ports I see run in the range of $1000
      So to get the option for 32 x 10gig spf+ ports for $1000 looks pretty good.
      But you have to make that decision on your own
      But why don't you show some examples and let's compare
      Do they have
      -Later 3 routing in the switch. With this not relying on the router like a layer 2 switch.
      -Are they spf or spf+
      -Do they integrate into a central easy to use interface like unifi.
      Know some have central management so willing to switch to new interface or use 2 interfaces.
      But please show me some that you are looking at so I can see what your looking at too
      O and 1 gig is ancient compared to 10 gig but hey what do I know. U asked for a switch that has 24 to 48 1 gig spf ports. So ancient ancient teck is what you must have too.
      But no for real just trying to help. Not be rude

    • @timramich
      @timramich Před 6 měsíci

      @@c82us Point is I don't need a switch with that many SFP+ ports, so costing that much just to run them at 1 gigabit is a waste of money. Ubiquiti wants all their APs within cat5 range, to use their microwave dishes, or mesh a bunch of APs together. They seemed to never consider people running APs far away and using fiber to get there. And the uplink ports on all their switches are so asymmetric compared to the main ports, it's laughable. That switch you think is worth it should have two QSFP28 100gig ports. You seemed to have completely ignored that aspect of my complaint.

    Please bring the UCI cable modem to Canada, even as a rental device, it would be nice to have a modem only option with Rogers, or with a reseller.
    Also, if you are getting into the CPE market with the UniFi line, please make a UniFi ONT/ONU for XGS-PON providers like Rogers and get them to offer it or supoort it on their FTTx deployments. I assume that since Comcast Xfinity already supports the UCI that Xfinity TV is fully supported meaning no hidden SSIDs (not sure Xfinity TV even has hidden SSIDs even when the modem is in bridge mode), and that Rogers Infinite TV (a branded all IP version of Xfinity TV) is the same.

    If you all would stop releasing garbage product lineups then maybe we could go back to you being “market disruptive”
    Releasing amazing devices fir SD-wan. Remember those days? Remember how we all felt about your product releases in 2018? Can we go back to that?
    Unifi access is cool and all.

    We see you releasing all these other products but we’re waiting on the gateway.
