Once deleted the valve stays in closed position and no need to clean. Make sure you have disconnected the electric wire so CPU doesn’t get a false reading.

Hi Charley. EGR Delete is easy to do but the tune that is needed after the delete is expensive. Without programming the CPU, the check engine light will remain on.

My egr puts out a terrible noxious smell at all times, especially when driving at low speeds. I assume there in a leak somewhere in the egr cooler. The dealership has just giving me a runaround with no permanent fix. I'm about to notify the EPA and hopefully that will get their attention. Not trying to be a dick but this exhaust is choking.
Hi Ben, I had a similar problem twice after dealer repairs. Tech did not seal turbo to exhaust properly causing small leak of exhaust in engine bay. My heater and a/c sucked up exhaust and blew into car. Took dealer two times to fix it by replacing all gaskets and remounting turbo and exhaust. No problems since.
