International AIDS Vaccine Initiative seeks to address urgent global health challenge: Mark Feinberg

The CEO of a leading scientific research organisation working in the vaccine development space believes that building a new vaccine manufacturing facility in Africa could cost at least R8 billion and take anything from two to three years to set up. Mark Feinberg leads IAVI - the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative - a New York Headquartered non-profit seeking to address urgent, unmet global health challenges including HIV, Tuberculosis and emerging infectious diseases like the Coronavirus. IAVI recently marked its 25th anniversary and invited the media, including SABC News to view its vaccine development facility.
