Probably unpopular, but I don't like this update at all. I hate when they need to nerf stuff in order to bring balance. I heavily invested in Tie Reaper and in TFP, and now they are useless in my shard. CG should think about this type of stuff. I lost time and resources thinking that I made a great investment. Now I have to start again gearing characters that are not viable at all in other areas (geonosians). Anyways, great job with the video guys, I hope you can tell CG how they affected players like me who have to be very picky with what they decide to invest in, and have been affected with this.
Yeah, I kind of blame the ppl who complained about ships which was namely the game changers. I agree with everything you said, except change the word invest to spend.. I guess you say you invested your resources, but I think there are ppl who actually think putting money into this game is an investment.
Same here. I find this really annoying. Previously, if only one was locked, all missiles would hit it dealing upwards of 25,000 damage. Now only one hit it and its like 5,00 damage. I'm not sure how thats better.
Tie Reaper works great as a reinforcement instead of a starter imo. Reducing turn meter to enemies, Defence down plus turn meter bonus to your team is great, and means he doesn’t get nuked straight off the bat. Also the drop rate on those reinforcements mats are a joke. I got 8 from 40 attempts even with the double drops...
Ahnald, please test Plo Koon reinforcement! His health/protection to all allies is huge, which is great assuming you're bringing him in to support a full, but beat up crew. Of course, I think you said it... how many people have a fully developed Plo Koon?!
doug1lau1 plo also cleanses all debuffs after its upgraded!! I think they are going to do a huge separatists/clone war re work. Possibly release Jango Fett. Along with the grievous re work.
Plo Koon's ship was nothing more than something to get until today! I had never even looked into what it could do, and it sure is potent. I for one would like to see an AOTC toon update myself, as I'd much rather see improvements to current stock over a barrage on new releases. If they in fact do such an update, I'd like to see it be the gateway to a droid upgrade that include destroyer droids and the ultimate arrival of the Ewok god-king C-3PO.
I'm glad to see some ships being viable for once, but on the other hand, after all that work to getting 7* Tie Reaper has just gone to waste. I honestly can't stand to have Reaper in my lineup anymore.
I’m glad you gamechangers enjoy the update! Meanwhile some of us who played all ships battles daily have been shafted. I really like how the battles last longer now than prior to the update. Great job.
Great video. New update is weird. Don't like the guild chat and fleet battles. 3 ships instead of five. I put so much into Tie fighter. Now he's obsolete.
Ships were my favorite part of the game (I know, crazy). Now, I HATE them. Is it just me, or are they too good on defense? I can't seem to win anything anymore. I was top ten. I've been #1 several times. This is BS. Not fun.
Tie reaper is better as first reinforcement, not starting. Can call it and remove all slave buffs instantly. Plus it’s reinforcement ability it really good
I find it a bit odd how some of the must-have ships previously (Slave 1, Biggs' X-wing, etc.) seemingly got buffed, whereas other must-have's got nerfed (TIE, Reaper, etc.). Seems to be a bit arbitrary which ships got which treatment. Overall, I still prefer new ships to old, but some of their balance changes confuse me a bit.
Yeah he better be sure Palpatine doesn't get a whiff of him... And trust me we all still have a lot to learn! Definitely expect more content covering this whole update.
interesting to see how the underdogs like geonosians have become so viable, as always thank you for testing and giving us a little insight as to what some of these ships can now do. I think it will take a little while for the meta to show properly as everyone will be trial and error for a little bit.
One thing I've noticed back then when you could let's say target mark 3 ships your Endurance's could theoretically hit 4 ships with this fortune favors the bold thingy, speeding the things a lot. Now I've found Mace's capital least useful of all of them. And 3 Valors running do not speed things up at all...
I've been finding Ashoka's cleanse reinforcement super useful I also think that Tie Silencer and 2 ships that have assist abilities is the best current starter fleet.
Sun Fac was META for a long time and Soldier was always good for damage back in the day, I farmed their ships just to farm them, they need a Separatist rework with a GG Capital Ship
Has anyone else attempted the fleet challenges after the update? Tried to do Home One Tier IV (which requires 6 light side ships), but the new format puts you where you only have 5 ships available. Old format was 5 ships + 1 reinforcement, new format is 3 ships + 3 reinforcements, but in order to have 3 reinforcements, you have to have 5-star Home One (which is what you get after completing that challenge).
Check out Ahsoka's and Plo Koon's ships. I use them as reinforcements. Plo gives 40% hp and protection. I bring Ahsoka in after Boba Fett. I use Thrawn's capital as well. Ahsoka hits a lot harder now
Would be nice to see you testing the ships without maxed reinforcements and abilities. Those actually change them completely like giving them a omega or zeta in power increase. Can you try AA capital, geonosian squad, with phoenix reinforments and the FOSFTP? The latter has quite some assist calls which would favour geonosians and the AA bonus for out of turn damage. I am really disappointed with the Falcon, they nerfed it to such a degree where it is a worthless piece of junk. The stacks consumption now is ugly, the hell do I do with 50% TM when the ship is hella weak now.
Slave1s Proton Torpedos got nerfed(prepatch 40k crit, 26k crits after patch), but i think its still worth keeping in starting team with vader and biggs. Wedges Eyes on the Breach sometimes crits for 90-100k, sometimes for 40k, before patch it critted for 60k. Vader got a huge buff with the new level for his basic attack(30%). Jedi consular is still really good for starter players, it got nice damage uprage though assist seems to be weaker than before. What i would try: Scimitars enter battle ability, Tie Silencer enter battle ability though it requires ships that weren't that good prepatch.(similar to geonosian ships) The strength difference between Home One and Chimaera seems to be smaller, but its harder to get 2 buffs on allies to have full value of Defiant Volley. I'm still trying to use this, because it's really tough on offense, but on defense it's still lame. Prepatch I couldn't go below rank 20, now i'm at rank 15(started at 35 today). I think top 3 is reachable with my ships, though the only G12 characters are Vader and Biggs. Edit: i saw a comment about maul: it's enter battle ability is nice, but not so powerful, it might be good for 7th ships.
well, I used 360 Cantina Energie (30 battles) to Farm those new ship ability mats in 6A and got 0 out of it (even with the double drop event)! Don't spend your Cantina Energie like this, this is not worth it.
The only problem I'm seeing with the new update is that I'm unable to complete my daily activities due to not being able to finish the one fleet challenge it asks for. They're just too difficult. I've only just hit level 60 and put all my work into building a team, and not a fleet. Even attempting doesn't give me the credit. So now I can't finish my activities until I get a more powerful fleet squad.
The Counter to the new Meta is as follows, Poe Dameron, Death Ship, and Ahsoka Starfighter. Two Buff Cleansers and one Heavy Gunner to one shot The Tie Fighter. I have been successful with this change. The Millennium Falcon However is now useless, I don't use it at all. I'm very butt hurt about there modification to the Falcon, it's damage output has significantly become weak.
I was wondering why my tie fighter seemed like it was never dodging. I didn't realize they dropped his dodge chance. Kind of bums me out. Hopefully geonosians being good points to a separatist rework

Tried to do a battle for Home One daily challenge today. Limited to 5 characters (three in battle and two backup). Challenge requires 6 non-capital ships. Anybody else notice this with any of the other capital ship challenges?
So which of the 3 original cap ships do you think would be best? I’m thinking Ackbar. Lots of protection and damage potentially from attacking out of turn which happens a lot with Rebels and Geonosians.
You mention mats are on Catina 6A. Have you actually gotten any mats? I have run over 300 energy with not 1 mat drops. I know a couple others who have done the same thing. I would love to see a video on how much energy you need to spend to get one to drop. I am thinking this is kind of like the omega ability map drop on the nodes.
I really hate the ships 2.0 update. I loved the fleet arena battles the way they were! It was a lot of fun, the fights and the awesome time management opportunities, I was always in the top 5. I used to win almost every fight, now I lose too much and the fighting itself is not fun anymore. All the synergies are useless now, with so few ships on the battleground. :(
Not a fan of the ship updates. I was hoping for hardware abilities so they could be a little more unique, but once you have them maxed out, everybody has the same teams.

This new ship overhaul is an abomimation. Opponents ship dealing 3 times more damage and twice as fast even without better toons behind them. CG has managed to make a horrible game mode even worse

Home One rebel crew jumped up 50-70 spots to Top 20, which is nice. Only block now is being behind 40k Fleet GP vs. those in Top 20.

You should use the TIE Slicer as the first reinforcement. Its reinforcement bonus is really strong

Slave one is only really good for giving Biggs a break from the taunt, otherwise he hits like a tickle feather.

What do you guys think of Cassian’s U-wing’s reinforcement ability? It seems pretty tight to me, the ability to strip buffs and apply debuffs at once.
i pulled reaper out. still using the "slicer" lol. i have vader in the call in due to all the tie pilot i face.
I used to use thrawn's art of war at first, and then I have no problem at offence. Now it is not that efficient anymore:(

You should try first order without a starting tank.
I maxed my fo tfp and tfp and chimera abilities. Start with them and Biggs, they generate so much damage its almost not fair lol

This new ship overhaul is an abomimation. Opponents ship dealing 3 times more damage and twice as fast even without better toons behind them. CG has managed to make a horrible game mode even worse
