    I'd like to think that killshot had a lot of trouble after shooting Leo, cause finding a good tailor is hard. Just imagining Doom and some other villains looking to beat killshot cause leo's arm is hurt, and now everyone has to wait a while before they can get their stuff fixed.

    This comic is so cool. The idea that all the superheroes and villains go to this one guy to fix up their costumes is a really neat idea. Honestly, it's this comic that made me fall in-love with the 'Last Stand' Spider-Man mask/jacket combination. Leo really nailed that Spidey needs to change quickly, that it needs to be feasible to repair on a tight budget, and that it needs to be relatively durable without sacrificing mobility. Other suits are more flashy, but Leo's 'Last Stand' costume remains enduringly awesome to me.

      So true, imagine if superheroes and supervillains knew they used the same tailor. it would be an all-out war. The superheroes would shut down his business (or politely ask him to only repair costumes for superheroes) and the supervillains would kill him out of anger or use him to get closer to revealing the secret identities of their rivals. I somewhat respect the tailor for not discriminating when it came to villains (it could be out of fear if he said no, but still), the guy offers reading materials while they wait and give them advice on the type of material that is most comfortable. The only thing he shouldn't have done was eavesdrop (although it wasn't much eavesdropping if his son could clearly hear him across a room), so he wouldn't have a moral obligation to snitch.

      IRL Killshot trying to [goof] the tailor would result on two possibilities
      1. Villains jumping on Killshot and lynching him for harming their beloved tailor, and then passively protecting the Tailor for a time (Speaking about his job was his own mistake. also you do not want to sour relations with you servicer, it could result on far bigger snitching: Not only by him, but by all the associates.)
      2. Villains first jumping on Killshot and [goofing] him for talking about his job nearby civilians, and then [goofing] the tailor as he was a witness.
      It could result in two things depends on what sort of villains you are dealing with. I feel like Dr. Doom would do his best to protect the tailor. Also he the Tailor already very old, [goofing] him will not be profitable in long term.
      Edit: There are two types of Criminal organisations in where I live. The north and the East. Stereotype goes as:
      The northerners would protect the Tailor, the Easterners would go after his kin.

    This is one of the biggest reasons why I love the first half of JMS' Spidey run; New York City isn't just a setting for Spider-Man, it's an entire character on its own, with Leo, cab drivers, hot dog vendors, teachers, restaurant owners, just regular folks fitting in naturally with the world of gods, heroes and villains. That's something that actually bothered me as a kid, when I watched the first Sam Raimi Spiderman movie. You see Peter Parker designing his costume and starting off with basic red/blue clothes and a ski mask. All of a sudden, he has that insane costume that looks like a professional did it for thousands of dollars. When parts of it get destroyed, it magically gets repaired to the next scene, even though Peter neither has the time nor the money to repair it. It looks more like an entirely new suit than a repaired suit. There's no marks of stitching. Did he just make a new one from scratch? The movie shows him only having this one suit and no spares.
    Some cosplayers showed how to recreate this Spidey suit, and the time, ingenuity and money that goes into it is crazy. Even then, it's impractical. You can't see much through the mask.

    I remember that issue, always liked it. "Doctor Doom wants a burger, you going to blame the kid behind the counter for selling him one?". Leo supplied a simple and legal service, he just made and mended costumes, nothing more or less, and I imagine most of his villain clientele had sense enough to not talk business while they were in his shop.

    I just find it odd that with characters like Tony Stark, Reed Richards, and Victor Doom being multibillionaire tech gurus as well as Steven Strange, Wanda Maximoff, and Thor Odinson being masters of magical arts, all the superheroes and supervillains collectively go to one guy in New York to get their costumes mended. You'd think there's no torn fabric that money or magic can't fix, but no, this guy will do, ok. Don't read this as I hate idea, I find it funny, it's just when you think about some of the people who show up to him, you wonder why they need this one guy to do the job.

    • @EeveelutionStorm
      @EeveelutionStorm Před 11 měsíci +2

      Well, when you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself. I don't think Tony needs Leo's services, but probably goes to him for actual suits like for his events, because you cannot beat the craftsmanship of someone who's done it so long it's second nature.
