- For decades, the Original Timberland® Boot has proven to be a timeless staple of style and culture; built to embrace and empower communities from construction to creativity, from hip-hop to homebuilding, from fashion to fine art.
In celebration of its 50th anniversary, we’re telling the story of the Original Timberland® Boot through the lens and voices of the communities that made it an icon across the world.
Visually led by a diverse team of artists - Tom Gould, Zoë Simone-Yi, and Lelani Foster - the documentary recounts stories of the boot’s humble beginnings as a construction work boot to its bold adoption across the hip-hop community and global movements such as the Milan Paninari.
It is what could be called a love letter to the boot’s rich history, featuring interviews from Jeff Staple, Bircide, Angie Martinez, Thirstin Howell III, and many other changemakers and cultural icons.
Directed by Tom Gould.

(Title)
/ timberland - Zábava
When my parents and I arrived in the States (1975 War/refugee). My family and I arrived with nothing but a few bags of our clothes and sandles on our feet. I was 5-6yrs old, we arrived in late Nov/Dec, after a few weeks in the states (X-Mas), the LDS church community came to our place with truck loads of presents/gifts/donations of clothes, food, furniture, Kitchenware, toys, etc... in the donation, I received my very first pair of shoes ever, they were a pair of Timberland hiking boots, you know the ones with red laces, that same year I experience american hate/bully because of my boots, but they soon stop bothering me because they quickly learn a very painful lesson, that I was a very good chin kicker 😁. Because of this experience, I never stop/only wear boots on my feet. We were poor, boots (Timberland) were all my mother could afford on my feet and b/c they would last for years before I would grow out of them, that, and bullies would never mess with me again 😁😂. I'm 49 now.
I'll always remember the first time I purchased a Timberland hoodie at a local shop. I was just 17 years old, and that's when I truly fell in love with the brand. Wearing that hoodie made me feel more confident, and I soon found myself rocking Timberland gear - shirts, hoodies, and more.
Later on, I saved up to buy a pair of Timberland roll-top boots while I was working in a minimum-wage job at a restaurant. With my first paycheck from a hard-earned 40-hour workweek, I headed to a Footlocker store to make the purchase. Those boots served me faithfully for 15 years, enduring all seasons, despite not being the premium-quality style.
In 2019, when I was leaving Colombia to return to Quebec after living there as a resident for three years, I made a bittersweet decision. I left my trusty Timberland boots on a street in Bogota. They had been through a lot and didn't look new anymore, but they were still as waterproof and wearable as ever. It took less than 15 minutes for someone to snatch them up.
Timberland has been and will always be a significant part of my style, and I'll carry that connection with me until the end.
Bought my first pair of timbs 18 years ago. Kids made fun of my shoes, only to want them 2 years later after the brand blew up in the Netherlands. Best shoes by far. Can't have enough of them.
Timberland & his beats 😊😊😊😊
Such a good watch! Well done 👏
This was great-very dope !!! Thirstin howl, raekwon and rakim should have gotten way more airtime!!!!

I love my Timberlands
Good video
Epic story
It's disgraceful that whoever did this documentary didn't think about interviewing anyone from the boot camp click , especially smif n Wessun who actually had a song called Timz-N -Hood chek. There was no other groups who pushed the Timberland brand as much as them in the 90s.
Gotta love Tims… ❤

🔥
Grande bircide❤️🔥
I give the docu a C+. It didn't get into how the 40 Belows up the game. It didnt mention how DC embraced Timberlands in the 80s as much as NY did. The Vibram sole became a known name with the 40 Below Super Timberlands.
🧡
Had my first pair the DMX blood burgundy boots for 11 years and replaced them with the 8inch Horween dmx blood burgundy
Rest up DMX
Less goooo
Cool doc. How about part 2? :P
The soles are glued on. They fall off.
If you love me, treat me like dirt 🤌

does anyone know the model of the jacket worn by Larry Klane at minute 2.56 ?
In Germany and the EU, Timberland is absolutely unreliable and an absolute disgrace for their customers. They are asked to pay even though they never received their orders. Customer service does not respond to problems and inquiries, customers receive electronically generated answers that do not match the problems posed at all. There are contradictory statements in the customer hotline and you can't get any help. What happened to Timberland? New customer strategy? Make them pay for what they didn't get? Great company 🤬👎👎👎
