Awesome, helpful and informative video dude! Thank you, I was wiring a dash cam and I don’t use fuse taps, this helped me get the stereo out and pick my ACC, BAT connections! I’m gonna look into this Apple play thingy and see if we can get it in New Zealand, thanks for the great video!

I have mentioned this too this company before but next year in December 2022 so many Toyota which includes Lexus vehicles are going to be so angry because they have 3G technology which is being turned off so next to nothing in the infotainment system will work. This is badly needed for I'm guessing millions of cars in the United States alone. I sure wish they would make one for my 2016 Lexus GS 350 with the mark Levinson radio. I have been wanting this for a couple years now and would love to have it. 2017 Plus I mean I think Lexus had this available in 2018 from the dealer so you're really only covering one year. Anyway I hope the company can make it work for my car and many others prior to 2017.

@@BeatSonicUS At 20:55 you show all the space behind the glove box to mount the boxes but I don't see how you mounted them or how they looked after you mounted them. How do you secure the two boxes to the car? Thanks!
@@jeffreymartin3605 When I did a similar installation I would put foam tape either around the box or on the metal wherever I ended up putting the box. If I had a flat area I would use velcro tape or 3M clear extreme tape.

Yes reverse camera works with this unit while in carplay mode

can the kit fit behind the OEM screen? and how do you reset those errors?
There’s not enough room behind the screen. The boxes needs to be mounted behind the glove box. The errors you see on the cluster shows to check that the error lights are working when you are on IG mode and engine not turned on. They will disappear when you turn on the engine.

@@BeatSonicUS Just got mine one of the new ones with wireless, nothing in the instructions talks about how to setup wireless functions nor what to do with the included antenna.
@@M3rl1n87 from customer service when I contacted them “To get the wireless working, go to settings-general-carplay and then wait for NV17W to show up on the bottom. Select, pair and allow contacts.” I mounted the antenna under my glove box with double sided tape and the connection has been good for me
Will the backup camera still show up on the screen while apple carplay is displayed?
Yes the backup will still show when you out the vehicle on reverse gear while in carplay mode

is it possible to get car play without hardwiring to avoid losing my warranty?
2018 IS 300 f sport
It’s plug and play. If you have any issues with the vehicle you can remove the device and your warranty won’t be affected
So much work for just an apple CarPlay. Really need a professional to install. IMO I’ll just live without it (use the USB function for songs) or just get the newer IS.
You can always hire a pro to install it

Got it installed and everything worked fine first day. Now second day it won’t auto connect. I have forgot the CarPlay device and connected and it’s still not working. Any ideas ?

Carplay and android auto does not support the hub system

How’s the audio quality?
Exactly the same as factory Bluetooth as we now route ALL audio to the cars Bluetooth and not aux
how is this plug & play instalment?
Since there are no cutting, splicing, soldering of wires. All the connectors plugs in and the interface loads
Can I connected to Bluetooth instead of aux?
Yes but you wont hear audible turn by turn directions if you do that

Kinda a specific request but what is the model number of the lvds cable used in this video? I'm going back and forth with an ebay seller right now and they're saying the cables they sent are correct. So far they have sent LVDS-GPLEX1801-RXM-FP2 and LVDS-CPLEX1801-RXM-FP2 but neither will even physically fit the connector to the screen.
Not sure. Sound like you’re dealing with a different product than ours
