The Ludwigsburg Residential Palace is one of the largest baroque-style buildings to survive in it's original condition in Europe! This is where the kings and dukes of the Baden-Württemberg region lived before they moved the Palace to Stuttgart. It was built in 1704 and features 452 rooms across 18 buildings in both baroque and classical architectural and decorative styles. I got a private tour of the Ludwigsburg Residential Palace and I'm taking you inside! Don't forget to subscribe: czcams.com/users/seeyousoonca
Baden-Württemberg wasnt a thing in the early 1704, existed the kingdom of Baden and the kingdom of Württemberg, they were two different kingdoms. The building in question was the royal palace of the kingdom of Württemberg. After the WW2 Baden and Württemberg were put together in one single federal state.
I was there in 1990. Unbelievable is all I can say. If you think the video is impressive you would be blown away. Southern Germany and Bavaria is just beautiful. Around every turn is like a postcard.
I was stationed at Flak Kaserne in Ludwigsburg from 1989-1991. Flak was located a short distance from the castle and I visited it numerous times, each time was wonderful.
@@seeusoontravel There were numerous areas that were off limits, I assume under restoration. The areas I remember visiting are the Chapel, Throne room, dining area and several "secret" passages.
I love the music!!! The palace is absolutely gorgeous. So exquisite and I love the details. But what I love most is your guide she is awesome. Love her outfit and her flare...!!!
Oh thank you! I love the music too and it always takes me so long to find the right track for each video. Our guide was wonderful. She's the court-lady named Lucretia and she stayed in character the whole time!
This palace is gorgeous! I fell in love just by seeing those stunning chandeliers, not to mention the whole decor and architecture. A beautiful place definitely!
Bila sam u dvorcu 1976, davno bilo. Sećam se da je lep dvorac, ogromne lepe sode. Jedna sva u ogledalima i zlatu. 🤔
I found out today that one of my Ancestors may have had a part in building this wonderful palace as its overseer and general foreman, more research is needed to confirm this though.
i was born in Ludwigsburg and live here to this day. i drive by this Palace every day and it's so normal to me that i forget people come here on daytrips when on vacation from all over the world.... ...but if you come, check out the two other, smaller palaces also located in this city. the "huntig castle" ( or Jagdschloss) is right across the road form this one... and "schloss Monrepos" which is on a lake is not so far away either.... cya in Ludwigsburg :)
It is really pretty! 452 rooms is a lot of rooms geez. Those chandeliers are gorgeous. I wonder what it was like to live there. That ancestry gallery was wow. The ceiling was really intricate too. Looks like you had the place to yourself.
When I walked into the Ancestral Gallery, my jaw dropped. It was just incredible. We were lucky to get a private tour of the Palace so it felt like we had it all to ourselves :D
Wow, So interesting. I am so jealous of the private tour :) I have been to a Palace like this in Vienna but I was not allowed to film and it was not a private tour either
What a lovely palace!! Love that baroque style hallway... kinda expensive though, imagine putting all that style in 452 rooms :-) and yes SeeYou Soon :-)
I've seen quite a few baroque palaces in Europe but I haven't seen this one yet! Looks like a good one too. Was that lady in costume an actor or the tour guide?
Wow, your video brought back some good memories. The United States Air Force stationed me near Moeringen (near Stuttgart) in the early 1980s and I have been sorry I left ever since. It was beautiful. I want to include this era interior design as close as possible when I buy my own home. Do you have a video of the classical look that you mentioned, or did I overlook it in this video?
Jealous of the private tour you got of the palace! Do the theatres still get used today or is it primarily just for visitors on the tour? I'll also need to test your curtsy skills next time we meet ;)
It was a real treat to be on a private tour. It allowed us to move at our own pace. The theatre is still used today! They have programing throughout the year. Oh, and my curtsy skills are on point now :D lol
Arienne Parzei than this is the perfect combination. I did the same trip two years ago and had an amazing time. Berlin also has a very distinct vibe. Very different from other European cities.

Impressive. What on earth did the royalty do with all those rooms. I am sure the little princess and princesses had a ball in those nooks and crannies of the huge palace.
Palaces were centers of government. You had not only the monarch and family, but extended family and various ministries all in residence. Louis XIV started the trend by building Versailles and demanding all nobles and ministers live there. It brings a whole new meaning to "Living above the shop."
My grandma used to play in there with a “princess” and ride horses dress up, get packages for money from church street hab (well clothing and stuff) told me wild stories and about horrors civilian bombing. Her ideas of voting freedom, peace, civilians terror bombing of everyone and homes of survivors, Germans murdered in millions, burned alive, starved, what prosperity was like and happiness. I thought it nonsense to entertain me as little kid. Think has a Duke’s child, but she thought it fun when strangers came they had to bow and behave foolishly for kids. Thanks! Boxes of history, lives, soldiers, families nobody will ever see again.

A "Kingdom of Baden" never existed, in fact it was a grand duchy. The Kingdom of Württemberg existed from 1805/1806 to 1918. Baden-Württemberg was founded on 25 April 1952.

It's such a large Palace that numerous visits are necessary :) Had it been restored much when you visited?

You can never call Baroque design understated, it's definitely the antithesis of IKEA.Great private tour.
Haha, it most certainly is not understated! :D

It's been so incredibly well preserved. Even the wallpaper on the wall was still original!

What a magnificent and opulent palace. Nice video which gives an idea of the grandness of Ludwigsburg residential palace.
Thanks so much! It was such a great place to explore.
I found out today that one of my Ancestors may have had a part in building this wonderful palace as its overseer and general foreman, more research is needed to confirm this though.
Wow that would be so cool if that is the case!
Bila sam 1976 i posetila ovaj predivan dvorac. Zaista lepo....

Hey thanks for sharing ! Great video! We are going to Ludwigsburg today!!
Wonderful! Have a great time!

Germany Kingdom is very beautiful. German Palace are amazing. The music you put was also good one.
Wow, So interesting. I am so jealous of the private tour :) I have been to a Palace like this in Vienna but I was not allowed to film and it was not a private tour either
The private tour made all the difference. We were able to go at our own pace and had free reign to film and photograph :D
What a lovely palace!! Love that baroque style hallway... kinda expensive though, imagine putting all that style in 452 rooms :-) and yes SeeYou Soon :-)
I was thinking the same thing, this place not only would have cost so much to build, but even more to decorate and furnish!
I live 1 hour from Stuttgart, I will definetly visit the royal palace one day
Hi! your video catch my eyes! Is it possible there to make a prenup? May i know if they have entrance fee? Thank you so much
I want to live there 🤣🤣👌
Me too! Though I can't imagine how much it would cost to heat the place in the winter, haha.
You don't want to live there in the winter. The palace is always cold also in the summer it's cool there.
I've seen quite a few baroque palaces in Europe but I haven't seen this one yet! Looks like a good one too. Was that lady in costume an actor or the tour guide?

Haha, that's awesome! I've never had that on my castle tours, will have to look into it!
Were can I find the soundtrack of your video?

Thanks so much Glen! The classical parts of the palace pop up throughout the video.
@@seeusoontravel Thank you for pointing that out. I will have to watch it several more times. 😀
Grwat video! What's the name of the song? Do you have any link?
What is with this music

Well done Arienne! Check out our official Ludwigsburg Travel channel! Welcome back any time!
Wow this palace looks amazing! Have you ever been to Potsdam to Sanssouci? It's amazing as well.
I haven't been to Potsdam, sounds like I need to make a visit.
Arienne Parzei yessss Potsdam is amazing. And it is extremely close to Berlin, so it makes for a nice duotrip.
Oh that's even better! I haven't been to Berlin but really want to go.

Who discofied the Brandenburg Concerto? Yeech!
I know right?! The nerve
How much for private tour ?
Camera should not be allowed to these remarkable Palaces. I think they have built it with love and should not be allowed to be seen as exhibition.
Good thing it was spared in WWII.
Impressive. What on earth did the royalty do with all those rooms. I am sure the little princess and princesses had a ball in those nooks and crannies of the huge palace.
Haha, I know right? You could be in a different room everyday for more than a year :D

The German Empire should be restored to see royals in this palace and invite people to have dinner and have parties
