  • I wanted to try explain that there is no perfect bike, if you want to start bikepacking just go on whatever you've got and you will learn along the way. Well that's what I've been doing and I'm loving it. In this video I go on a trip on a kids bike I found in the dump. Terrible bike but I still had a great time. Get out there!

Thanks for the "very" kind words. I think a lot of people make videos for the wrong reasons but that's a whole another topic, I personally just love playing with footage back home and creating memories. I'd still make these videos even if nobody watched them. I absolutely love watching tutorials and learning how to edit things differently. Using different tools etc. I feel I have so much to learn and doing these trips is a good way for me to get footage to play with. I'm glad they're entertaining people like yourself at the same time. So again, thanks for your kind words, It encourages me to keep going.

Haha cheers mate, This was a pretty random video but I’ve witnessed a few people being keen but never committing until they have all the gear. While it’s nice to have all the good stuff, it’s not the gear that makes the trips great. I think I said it in this video but I’ve done all my trips on old bikes and not one of them have I thought about my bike while out there. Even on the tough rides, I don’t think a new bike would have made the ride any easier. Just got to go with whatever you have. Thanks for the feedback. I'm probably my biggest critic because I watch so many amazing videos online which are most likely filmed with teams of people, at the perfect hours to get the best light, with budgets etc. I always want my videos to look better or have a better story. I started this channel because I love playing with cameras and the best way to learn is to just keep creating. At the end of the day none of this really matters, the desire to keep learning and practicing is getting me out on these trips and the memories I have made are priceless. I'm so happy I started this channel. The amazing comments of support like this are unbelievable and make me smile everyday so thankyou.

Some stunning views from the walking tracks. Just know I only went about 1 km on the walking tracks and I had to carry the little bike over heaps of rocky steps. I’m not sure your plan but if you want to ride it, you could potentially hide your bike in the bushes when you get to the end of the road and hike in. Another option you just drive to the end and go for a hike. Definitely an area to visit though. Especially in the morning or afternoon light. It’s gorgeous!

It really depends on the pack. I’ve done heaps of trips with the pack and it’s been fine but my bag is super comfy. Good hip straps to take the weight off your shoulders is pretty important. An uncomfortable pack can cut into your shoulders and even lower back so something to think about. How longs the ride???
I’m heading into the bush now and doing my first trip in a long time without a backpack and I’m a little nervous for some reason 😂
The way I see it. Give it a go, it may be a pain and you may hate the pack, but there is only one way to find out. If you don’t like it you can change it up for the next trip. I pretty much change my setup every time.
By the way, with all my camera gear my pack always weighed about 20kg which is ridiculous but always comfy. I noticed I did get more fatigued wearing it though but for me to take camera gear it was worth it.
      Good luck!

Hey mate! I’m always happy for people to tag along but it’s very hard for me to organise. It’s hard enough for me to organise myself. I also go at a slow filming pace my frustrate a few. I’ve had the odd message like this so I’ve been thinking about organising a weekender that I share on here so anyone can tag along. Could be a fun random video. If you have any ideas I’m all ears 👍
Thanks for the kind words. Cheers

Understand the organising well. Filming pace rules. I've only done beach overnighting but glad to join a weekender anywhere

Me too, when I read it a year or so ago I was considering buying a new bike and it got me thinking. The old bikes I'm riding are working perfectly. What's the point on spending money. I'd prefer to work less and ride more. Not once on the trail have I thought I needed a new bike. I'm sure it will happen eventually but for now the old bikes put a smile on my face and I love it.
      Cheers
