Speaking of loss, I cried during Sammy's death; "watch my heart break." Nothing from Synecdoche, New York either, which is arguably his best performance (or at the very least comparable to the ones in this video)

Alternative title: Philip Seymour Hoffman's Best Moments in Doubt, The Master, The Talented Mr Ripley and Magnolia

  • @morty100mgdistillategummy7

_Love, Liza_ is the most eloquently *real* movie I've perhaps ever seen ( _Jack Goes Boating_ & _Synecdoche, NY_ equally brilliant; but _Love, Liza_ is truly on another level)..
You'll know by watching the trailer if the flick is applicable to thine own self.
And Jim O'Rourke's music /score(?) combined with the most sadly beautiful soft focus cinematography physically affects me in a most intriguingly palpable way.
Philip Seymour Hoffman's entire filmography is worth watching, from _Scent of a Woman_ through to _Before the Devil Knows Your Dead_ & his tragic end (presumably drug induced "accidental" self immolation).. So heartbreaking! Fella had zero guise, & was obviously _up against it;_ trying to kick. And it was written on his face, like other drug casualties.
Some movies (the best movies, imo) instill within the viewer a sense of compassion. _Love, Liza_ isn't too heavy handed, but bloody *real.*
And that's as good as it gets; & so it goes..
    _Peace&JahBless_

Love, Liza was such a gem!! I watched it years ago. Still remember how wonderfully made it was.💯💯💯
A lot of people miss mentioning it altogether. It's one of his best, IMO. Flawless is overlooked a lot. PSH showed DeNiro how it's done. He ran circles around him. Absolutely BRILLIANT.💯

No Synecdoche New York? Is it possible that Netflix made this list not to sincerely rank these moments but to promote their platform? Hmm....
