@@torqueconverter5594 correct but still 200-230rwhp isn't really amazing out of the 3.8 alot of people these days when they actually do tuning get around 280-320rwhp n/a then L67 setups hit 280-500rwhp and turbo ecojets can get from 240ish-1000rwhp as tech and product build quality goes up so does power
@Brandon thats because the M90's that the L67 use are shit and flow worse than an ecotec intake manifold I've owned 3 of the L67 And 10+ ecotec An ecotec is way more capable of pushing 300rwhp than an L67 Proflow holley-style intake manifold Proflow extractors, twin cat delete pipes into a 2.25 or 2.5 xforce catback LS7 lifters, hd pushrods, light weight stock ratio rockers, 130lb valve springs ported and shaved heads and larger valves decked block 4.2 stroker with billet crank running 98 and dyno tuned And you are aware that most dirt track racers running a 3.8 had 300hp with less mods than above
They could have done better with the fan a couple closer up would be safer and may have got a better outcome especially if it’s run for a while heatsoak would set in pretty quick.223hp on a dyno dynamics is very solid
@@kidsink7896 yeah essentially the same 147kw vs 152kw isn't very noticeable but the vx has a better power band and torque band aswell as fuel economy which is makes the difference on the highway
@Brock Mclean haha i was lapping in a dark gray wm caprice 6ltr at the time lol it was a wicked night. My mate in a hothouse green vy ss manual raced him too but i got in the way as i was ahead of them and i stopped my mate from opening up the throttle lol

@@tupacshakur4829 so far I have done 3000 ks 1500 of them towing and before I unplugged the wire to the egr I cleaned the I take manifold and throtel body got the car down to about 8L per hundred ks on the highway then the little screen that's supposed to flatten the air out for the map sensor I removed that being I've had succus on a ve 6.0 doing the same thing and I got it down to 7.5 on the highway and alot more responsive then I unplugged the egr and I get anywhere between 6.8 and 7.2 on the highway and car runs heaps smoother barley touching the exalerator on the highway

dude even the 2nd gen cruze has an ecotec 2l and the earlier astra's had ecotec 2l's its not just an american thing they have a 2l 1.8>(based off the 2l) 3.8 and a lot of other variants including prototype setups the l67 is also really an ecotec just with a low psi supercharger
depends if this is a vt or vx or vy with that monaro front end its hard to tell the vx to vy are identical just the vy series 2 has a twin cat setup and the vt has a slightly different intake plenum (where it connect to the heads)
My little 3.8 made 240 hp n/a in 2014. dunno what ur on about with your most powerful statement. 4 psi of boost and it hit 270 hp. Then 9 psi and it made 295hp.
this engine was designed in the late 80's then updated to the ecotec in 94/95 and wasn't made to go fast it is doing well for making what its making it is a pushrod and the block really hasn't changed much from the 80's to 04
The ecotec stock as a rock brand new makes 190hp at the wheels! So 222.9hp a 33hp increase to me aint all that great at all! 15%hp gain ts just noticeable to drive! Thats just extractors exhaust n a pod filter on an engine in good nick! Try adding a stroker kit port n polish better diff gears msd ignition a tune cai extractors high flow exhaust high pressure fuel system a shift kit then watch that car spray shit all over this one
TheWretchedWorld um actually the later L67 had a 180kw stamped on the engine cover so ur wrong bud, plus my ecotec has headwork and bolt on mods injectors etc and it pulls 148 kw, when I've got my turbo on it with haltech ecu I'll pull and easy 300kw but I'm planning to build a l67 engine and go for 600hp, the turbo an ecu I have was on another Eco stock as a rock and he made 550 rwhp

I had my ecotec engine running ram air cold air intake, dual throttle, ported and pollished intake manifold, pollished valve seats, stage 2 cam and rockers, port n polished heads, extractors, 3.5" high flow exhaust, stroke kit, bored cylenders, forged pistons, mafless tune, 18psi injectiors, high pressure fuel pump(30pounder) msd spark enhancer, msd ingnition, mds leads, 3mm sparkplugs, head spaced inline sparkplugs, adjustable stall converter, stage 2 shift kit, long range 4 speed box, after market diff gears, drilled n slotted brakes v8 brakes and calipers, ultra light 17" mags and 201kg weight reduction my vs weighed 998kg My ecotec was also naturally aspirated and it had well over 222.9 mentioned in this video! My car was dynoed at 340hp before the last of the mods were done(stroke and bore which give massive gains) so i would have had it atleast 460hp when it exploded! Yes it exploded blew pistons and a rod and pieces of crank out through the sump!!! 148kw 300kw 206hp 222hp 600hp 550hp these numbers r easily achievable by those who know what they r doing Keep in ming in order to get the full benifit of a cam u need head valve intake and exhaust work! What did you do to disable your egr?
I don't know if he did something different but all I did was unplug the wire and it's disabled no warning lights
