When you sign to a major label, you are just one of many artists on the roster. You can be talented but get overlooked because you’re not the priority. Plus they are going to see you as a risk unless you are already coming into the negotiation with a large consumer base. If I didn’t have that, I would consider signing a distribution to a smaller label.
You don’t know business. Why does Drake keep signing record deals when he’s clearly rich as fucc? He paid to build a $100 million mega mansion but he understands what a record label does for him. Drake is only at the top because of his label and he’s proven himself year after year so he’s getting better deals every time he signs.
