    You can see Sabalenka is a very powerful tennis player. It really shows how much talent and composure Leylah has to have taken her down. As Leylah grows stronger in adulthood, she'll be even more of a dangerous player!

    • @benthekeeshond545
      @benthekeeshond545 Před 3 lety +5

      That is true if she doesn't lose her quickness and agility. Sharapova, after winning her Wimbledon debut, grew a few inches taller and she also became more powerful. But I think she lost some of her lateral movement and agility. That got to be the main reason why she didn't do well against Serena after her Wimbledon victory.

    Sabalenka really has the potential to be such a force on the WTA tour if only she could stay consistent by reducing the errors. it's not necessary to hit the skin off the ball on every shot. Reduce the margins on your shots, introduce a little top spin maybe, anything to ensure you aren't giving points away.

    Emma may become a generational player and already an amazing talent! She did it the hardest route possible having to go through 3 qualifier games to win it all. That's essentially playing 43% more games! Who she has beaten were just as impressive. Round 2 she easily dispatched Zhang who she lost just a few weeks ago. She learns quick. Round 3 she almost double bagel Tormo 6-0 6-1. Round 4 she smoked Rogers 6-2 6-1 and Rogers just beaten #1 player in the world a match earlier! Quarter she beaten #11 Bencic easily 6-3 6-4 who just won the Olympic and never lost a set going in and beaten #7 player along the way. Semi's she blew away #17 Sakkri 6-1 6-4 and she beaten #10 Kvitova #6 Andreescu #4 Pliskova. FInal she dispatched Fernandez 6-4 6-3 who had beaten #3 Osaka #5 Svitolina #2 Sabalenk. So in this tournament she brushed aside players who have directly beaten #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7 #10 players! In fact in the main draw, no one got more than 4 points in a set against her. She was ranked 340's in June and I don't think she played any wta tournaments before and got wildcard at Wimbledon and made it to second week round 4. And the next major finished third week and won it all (when all winners in men or women had only needed to play two weeks to win a major because no qualifier ever achieved that). This is one of the greatest individual athletic feat in history!

      Let's see if Emma's still 'brushing aside' players in the next 12 months before judging her greatness. Many on the WTA tour have won slams and risen to the top; however, staying at the top is a different story when there is pressure, expectation and every single player wants your scalp when you step on the tennis court.

    Why are there so many people insulting Leylah? I've seen several people complain that she "whined about the medical timeout", but none of them seem to realize that Leylah didn't know what was going on. She didn't know Raducanu was bleeding, and thought Raducanu had called for a medical timeout as an unfair tactical maneuver to throw off her (Leylah's) momentum. It's a fair mistake, which she acknowledged post-match, and I'm sure any of us would have been emotional about it at such a pivotal point in an important match.

      We don't know that. But with Emma winning every game in 2 sets, and Leylah having so many 3 set battles, due to tougher opponents, Emma must have been much fresher for the final than Leylah. So although an Emma fan, I don't believe the argument that if Leylah beat all those seeded players, and Emma beat Leylah, Emma must be able to beat all those seeded players Leylah beat. It just doesn't work that way!
