We run a dive shop specializing in Japanese in Chuuk. Once a week, we post a video introducing Chuuk. Please give us a good, subscribe and comment 😊
I miss the walking, banging pots & tins & cheering. The loud music & screaming standing on top of vehicles just look crazy like lunatics!
Bring back pots & tins!!!
I miss the days where there are few cars on the road and group of people from each spot would go around celebrating without speakers just pounding pots and tins. Hehehe
I feel you! I love that style too. It has changed a lot in just 5 years or so, with more cars and speakers. I wonder if other islands still have the style of beating pots and tins, which makes me want to go there. But I also like Weno's current style, which is lively😊
@@ChuukDiveTREASURES yes most islands still do. Except weno. Next time go to uman or tonoas.
@@ChuukDiveTREASURES go to Uman island
waiooooo I just knotice the kapwong from Hilten K from MwaL ngeni Chon maui waiii Happy new year from Maui........ Thank you for posting chuukese celebrating New Year 2023...
so nice to see Chuuk and how happy they are, makes me miss home
It's my pleasure to show you your home. Thank you for watching!
Happy new year Umi!!!
Happy new year!!🎍
I miss those days were cousins get together, form a group and walk around in the village, going from one house to another to get candies, free food & free drinks from aunties and uncle's houses.
Instead of loud music/speakers and customise vehicles, all we need is a stick (drum sticks) and of course our local drums, pots and containers, and that one crazy cousin, sometimes it could be an aunt or uncle, everyone agrees to be the group leader (chants) 🤣
Those were the golden days, it will be awesome if we bring back old traditions. much more fun & safer.
Again, Thank you Chuuk Treasure for another great video! I enjoy watching it 🤝 HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉🎇🎆🎄
Maybe the government wants to go back to the old tradition of banging pots without speakers in their own villages instead of driving around.
Thanks again for watching our video! Happy New Year🎍(←This is a traditional Japanese New Year decorations😆)
Happy new year to the people of chuuk. Am from Palau🇵🇼

Wow everyone’s so happy . Love it and happy new years from am.samoa
Wow, Samoa!! Thank you for watching and Happy new year🥰
Wow! This is an awesome video. Thank you for sharing with us. It seems Chuukese are wealthy and money is plenty there. Compared to other Pacific island nations and territories, these displays of material wealth seem opulent and lavish. I watch many other CZcams videos of villages in less developed African, Asian, Southeast Asian places, etc, and find these displays of wealth in Chuuk to be very telling of the material advances Chuukes have made. There are huge differences in what I see in other traditional places around the world and what I see from videos and images of Chuuk and FSM. It's amazing. I live in Hawaii and see hundreds, even thousands, of Chuukese who have migrated to Hawaii supposedly in search of economic fortunes, education, etc... But this video shows lots of material opulence on their island. I wonder why so many Chuukese even decide to move to Hawaii or other parts of the US?
But perhaps my question only seems rhetorical... because I know all of us move to more developed places to seek out excitement, discover new ways of life, perspectives, and to seek economic fortunes of our own, right? Even you as Japanese tourism entrepreuneus left Japan and moved to and live and work in Chuuk. I am just awed by what I see in your videos... I've read many of the writings of the Catholic priest Father Francis Hezel who has written about Chuuk and Micronesia and what I see in this video add to all the complexitie I hear about Chuukese and Micronesians. Thank you. Domo arigato gozaimasu for your videos. They're both entertaining as well as educational in a very deep sense.
Originally wealthy people move abroad in search of further convenience and wealth. They may also have a longing for the city. But there are also many people who go abroad to work in search of jobs because there are not many jobs in Chuuk. Chuuk has so many islands, but the island in this video is the only one where you can feel material wealth.
I started living here because I love diving in Chuuk, but I have lived here for a long time because I love the beautiful nature and simple life in Chuuk. And I respect the Chuukese people for their love of family and their life skills.
Your comments are very interesting. Thank you so much!
You should visit palau 🇵🇼 very beautiful island
Happy New Year

I'm happy to be able to give the Chuukese in the U.S. a glimpse of their home. Thank you for watching!
micronesians
also chuukese people are wild when new years star they go on top of cars blasting loud music
the driver beeping.
its very nice that they still do this till this very year.
Man chuuk is really cool
I think so😊😊😊
Really nice island way of doing things, I’m from Papua New Guinea. I have heard of this place but I don’t know much, I wish to visit one day.
Wow, Papua New Guinea! A Japanese who lived in Papua made a manga(comic) about his memories there and I often read it. It is very interesting because there are some similarities with Chuuk, but there are also completely different cultures. I'd like to visit there someday too.
チュークワさんの故郷ですね。新年明けましておめでとうございます!
そうです、動画に映っている彼らの中にもしかしたら無線を使う本物のチュークワさんがいるかもしれません😆明けましておめでとうございます🎍

@@ChuukDiveTREASURES yes, hehehe. happy new year to you too. thank yoy
It’s new years, The FSM Government needs to ACT NOW and, provide funds to the chuuk island. The funds can then be used to improve the chuuk’s economy and infrastructures. Happy new years chuuk and the people. Kinisou chapur for the video.
I used to watch your video, I like It, posting videos about Chuuk, and if it's possible please put more videos about the outer island too.
There are only two Outer Islands left to introduce that I have visited. Today I posted a video of one of them, Murilo😉
Thank you, Yumi. I watched your post on that one very nice and beautiful, and if it happens you have the opportunity to visit those other MOrtlocks islands.

I imagine that every island has its own unique characteristics and that it is a wonderful New Year. I would like to see the New Year in Uman too! Maybe in the near future, when the internet in Chuuk is better developed, the people of Uman will upload a video.
